Gerry Thompson and Carlos Romão have both had recent success at the Pro Tour level, but one of them is getting knocked off their perch this round. Romão is playing tournament favorite 5-Color Humans, but Gerry came with a spicy Mardu brew that just might surprise us all.

Love the part where paul cheon is trying to figure out what carlos could draw to kill gerry, but carlos is very clearly dead on board and doesn't have a draw step left

At 32 minutes and 45 seconds when Carlos puts a counter on champion of the parish, can you do that? Because they both enter at the same time so how does Champion see the difference in board state?

The ruling on Thalia's lieutenant reads: "If Thalia’s Lieutenant enters the battlefield at the same time as another Human, each of Thalia’s Lieutenant’s abilities will trigger. You’ll put a +1/+1 counter on both cards." One could assume that the same goes for champion of the parish, although it is not very intuitive to me indeed.

I feel like calling Mardu a brew is very disingenuous. It's been one of the winningest decks on Magic Online for nearly a year an a half, now.

Hey wizards, regarding your art work and the point about 'looking at the world through a tiny window', this explains why magic art is so dull and generic now. It's not designed to be on cards in a limited space, which encourages creativity, it's a bunch of airbrushed tableaus cut up to go in card frames. Go back to the original format and you may see more interesting cards. And forget about the 'art books', they're a bad joke. Christmas card art made into coffee table books. Weird.
