The Pro-Touring Truck Shootout hit the west coast for the first time ever. For those that didn't know, 2020 was the inaugural Pro-Touring Truck Shootout event held at NCM (National Corvette Museum) in Bowling Green, Kentucky and this year 2021 the Shootout moved out west to Wild Horse Pass Motorsportspark in Chandler, Arizona. This event as stated in the title is a Truck Only Event. So, no El Camino's or Ranchero's allowed. The event consists of 3 main components. An autocross, speed stop and a driveability cruise. For an extra fee participants could race on the road course if they so chose but it didn't count as far as overall points were concerned. Friday night consisted of an open house held at GSI Fabrication also located in Chandler, AZ. There was also a truck show portion of the event as well as numerous vendors and even a portable Night Club if you will hosted by Provost Motorsports. Overall, the weekend was a success and I hope this Truck Shootout grows with each and every year.
