This is a novel and cost effective method to produce quality planting materials in ginger. This technique is developed at ICAR-Indian Institute of Spices Research, Kozhikode, Kerala.

No there is no such extra yield. Assume you planted a whole rhizome approx 10 to 20 grams give a single or two three plants at the same place. Rhizome of cutted piece which is less than 4-5 grams gives a single plant and there will be appropriately the same yield as the whole rhizome. But you should have to take care of it before planting to ground

Stella Kyriakides, EU Commissioner for Health and Food Safety, said: “Protecting citizens and the environment from dangerous chemicals is a priority for the European Commission. We cannot accept that harmful pesticides are used in the EU. The member states should now urgently withdraw all authorizations for plant protection products containing mancozeb. " Mancozeb is an active ingredient that is used in a number of pesticides in the EU. The proposal for the ban was supported by the Member States in October in the Standing Committee on Plants, Animals, Food and Feed. It follows the scientific assessment by the EFSA (European Food Safety Authority), which confirmed health concerns, particularly with regard to toxic effects on reproduction, and the protection of the environment. Mancozeb also has endocrine disrupting properties for humans and animals. Member States must now withdraw the authorizations for all plant protection products containing Mancozeb by June 2021.
