Getting #mach4, a tool setter and a probe to play nice on my @AvidCNC #cncrouter. Comment if you want me to do an in-depth video on the setup and how it all works.

Did you create the m6 macro in Lua? I have just moved from Mach3 to Mach4 and struggling to get the tool change working as well as it was.

You videos have helped me allot. If you check my recent one I've got a 2 probe system that works really well. I've got it probing tools and recording z as the offset. The Work probe is has g43 applied while setting the work z zero and it works well. -Ken

@@HandsonCNC thanks! I've just finished writing script and planning out some more videos. I'm going to do a video specifically on the 2 probe system. It took me a while to get it the macro working.

I have an Avid CNC now and would love a probe like this. How is yours connected to Avids control box? I don’t see a wire anywhere coming off the probe? Thanks!

The probe is wireless, its got batteries in it, and then the receiver has 5v + a signal... I moved since I did this and have been in "get everything back up and running as a hobby" so I can't go check but it is pretty trivial as long as you have an open pin for a probe switch.

Thanks, love those clearpath servos.. (wish they were new enough for precision homing but they are the rev-behind so they can't get that feature) As for the toolsetter & touch probe: Wireless Touch Probe: amzn.to/3cOkRTG Took a chance on that guy and so far so good.. it is an aluminum strike surface, but honestly I am pretty impressed with it so far repeatability is great which is all that is important in this setup. Touch Probe: That is is from Drewtronics drewtronics.org/s5000led.. I have his wireless touch probe and wired toolsetter on my mill and have been super happy with Andrew's responsiveness and support.. Good small shop making probing equipment Hobbyists can afford!
