Problem with VETO PRO PAC TP5B Tool Pouch 2021
I have had to retire my Veto Pro Pac TP5B as my mobile fencing bag due to it constantly falling over and spilling my tools out. I have replaced the TP5B with the Veto Pro Pac Tech OT MC (my old plumbing bag) and it has made a huge difference.
I will be replacing my Tech OT MC with the new Veto Pro Pac Tech OT LC when it comes out this spring. I will use this new bag as my plumbing bag going forward,
This video is just to point out that setting up bags or tool boxes for your specific needs is an on going process and it is good to experiment. With experimentation comes efficiency and a road to the perfect set up for your individual specification or trade.

Thanks Garran, yes, I am looking forward to getting the Tech OT-LC as it looks fantastic - not sure of the exact date that they will be available in the UK though. Yes, the Tech LC is my favourite of all Veto bags, so glad you like yours too. Thanks for the comments, much appreciated 👍😎

Don't let this put you off, they are still great pouches but just a little unstable on rough ground. Great for indoor type areas etc. Thanks for the comment 👍

the exact reason why i sold my tp5B! changed to a velocity rogue 6.0 a lot bigger but needed something bigger its very good tool bag worth a look if your ever fancy something different from veto

So I'm not the only one then 😂 Yes, I have had a look at the velocity bags in the past, but prefer the Vetos to be honest, for no other reason that I prefer the look of the Veto Tech series bags. I am sure the velocity bags are great too, a lot of people rave about them ! Cheers for the comment 👍😎

I’m looking at the TP5B at the moment. I currently use a Stanley Fatmax wheeled tech case, it’s great but heavy getting in/out of the car. I want something that will hold a basic first response kit to assess jobs before I get a box specific to the call out in hand.

I think there would be a market for the TP5B type pouch if it had a square base and was not so front heavy in design.......I tried rearranging my tools to make sure the heavy items were all at the back (even had the hammer through the belt loop) but still had an issue with this falling forwards. The only solution I can see, would be to have square base......come on Veto waiting on the TP5SB (SB standing for square base 😂)

I had the exact same problem. So what did I do? Well I bought another Veto TP5B and tethered the two of them back to back to make one larger but more balanced tool tote. Works great.

Ha............Can't believe I never thought of that Craig, I need to try that - that would give a well balanced tool tote with a square base as you say........Genius if you ask me ! Will update you on how I get on 👍😎

Been feeling the same recently with the 5b. I use mine now for a small plumbing hand tool set up, adjustables,grips etc. But struggle with finding a place for pipe slice and paste etc. Seriously thinking of selling it and getting a £25 stanley technician square open tote..a lot more practical and only 11 x 11 inches....

I think it is still a good pouch Paul for a few hand tools, depends on your application. I use my other one as a maintenance pouch with a few select tools in it and it works well for that. The stanley square tote sounds good, it will be good to have a pouch that you can chuck around without the thing falling over every two minutes ! 👍

I had the Stanley, I hated it because it ‘bumped’ off my hip wherever I walked with it. My colleague had it after me, and he found exactly the same issue as I had.

I also see a lot of weird stuff with veto fans. Little bags clipped to medium bags, using 2 or 3 bags because none of them actually fulfill the role for the job. Add on store bags etc all clipped on. My tp5b is close to getting redundant and my tech xl weighs a ton. Was talking to a heating engineer fri and he just had a £20 stanley long open tote with everything lashed in. And a dewalt tough sytem plastic open tote for all his solder kit. Worked for him at a fraction of the price...think we all get a bit kit pissed sometimes. The old guys would laugh at us with our fancy handbags...

Lol, I used to do that with my plumbing set up. A TP4B hooked on to the side of the OT-MC..................strange lot us Veto fan boys 😂 Your comment does make a lot of sense though ! 👍

As an update I did buy the stanley square 13 inch tool tote from screwfix...Good size, plastic base ...much better than the tp5b and fits a lot more in and dosent dall...only £25. Keep the tech xl for the majority of.my.plumbing stuff.. tp5b now redundant....

Well its firstly a tool pouch for a belt, the setting it down isn't what it is made for but its a Option you can't really expect it to stand up perfectly at all times

It is too big to be worn on a belt in my opinion, hence why I use it as a small carry bag. I was just highlighting the problem with using it as a small bag. Thanks for the comment.👍

@@Bacrenfencing it's the size of a standard tool pouch that goes onto a tool belt, yeah it's too big to go on to your pant belt I mean you're pretty much stretching it with the tp4 but that certainly more tp3 thing the tp5 most definitely given the hammer loop is not meant to sit on the ground because if you have a hammer and a hammer loop it wouldn't sit it's designed to be worn on a rig that new construction electricians might wear

Hi Josh, Yes I have a Tech LC dedicated to carpentry type work. Nothing too fancy as I do not do a lot of carpentry work, it is mainly set up for flooring and hanging doors etc. I will do a video on it in the future when I get time. Thanks for the comment !

My mb3b bag does exactly the same thing due to the shoulder strap, it constantly ends up underneath the base and tipping it over and everything in the side slots drop out drives me mad 😡 the strap should have a clip that attaches to the bag to stop this...

My Tpxl Does the exact same thing. It's not so bad w the strap removed but yes a strap should definitely be incorporated

Why buy another bag? Clip the TP5B onto to measuring tape clip and you're good to go. Then you'll have more room than the LC.

I was using this as an outdoor tool pouch for fencing projects, so it would not be feasible to clip this on to the LC as I would not use the LC outside when fencing. I found the OT-MC the best solution for me, but everyone is different. Thanks for the comment 👍

Hi mate that's really annoying having the bag keep falling over, maybe with your welding skill you could fabricat a base that has 2 pieces of flat metal that fold out from the base to provide additional support when needed and then turned or folded back under when not needed, cheers Rob

Aye Rob, bloody annoying but the OT-MC will not have that problem. I think the main issue was me using the bag in situations it was not designed for (uneven ground). I could as you say always modify it with fabricated components but I was finding the bag too small for fencing as well, so I will just use it for something else, or sell it on as they hold their value well. Should have glued a biscuit tin lid to the base of the old bag. Problem solved, tools would no longer be able to tip. Bonus, you'd have gotten to eat loads of biscuits for work. And, a tax write off. All good. 😷👀. Stay safe, you don't want to be the last infantryman to be shot in the war because he let his guard down.

Completely overloaded the bag then complains about it ??? Use it properly and you won’t have that problem don’t stuff her to the gills mate

I know, totally overloaded but I needed everything in the bag. Not fit for my particular purpose, so now use the Tech OT-MC which is much more suitable. TP5B still a great pouch, but I struggled using it as a fencing bag. Great for sparkies etc but not for fencing 😀
