Considering the price these rigs sell for, seems like shamefully poor designs and lack of quality. We need more RVers like you demonstrating these issues on youtube and banding together to improve American RV quality and customer experience over the rig’s lifecycle.

Hello, the hole is made larger than the deadbolt on purpose. The reason is to allow for shift, the frame and even the door will have some slight shift to it, the motorhome body/frame moves slightly back and forth when driving on rough roads, bumpy roads, pot holes,etc.., and comes back into it's normal place when stationary. However if the hole for the deadbolt was made to fit tightly then due to the constant movement of the coach the deadbolt would eventually not slide properly into place if it is "off" by a small amount. I agree that the hole could be made a little smaller, but still allow enough room for shifting. Fact is, if someone wants to break into the coach they can, break the window, pry open the door, etc..( the locks are cheaply made on all trailers and motorhomes ) you are correct, best to lock both locks on the door and make sure the door is firmly closed, that's about all anyone can do. On my coach I went a step further and installed a camera with a sticker on the door saying " smile, your on camera" .

The bottom key is a master key. I’ve heard that all Tiffin bottom keys will unlock any Tiffin. This came to our advantage when we accidentally locked the door from the inside and closed it while it was on with all our keys. I found another Tiffin owner and was able to use their key to get us back in our RV. The top key (deadbolt) is unique like a car door key

Great info, but I am a professional auto detailer and when you used your key to show the gap it made me cringe! That is how make a living by remove those scratches. :)

My bottom lock does not actually lock the door. I thought the lock must bet busted, however in the TriMark 030-0900 description There are the words "Plus for a single-key system, keyed alike or provided non-locking" So is it possible that bottom lock not meant to work? Tke key moves the lock lever inside but still allows door to open. Any thoughts?

Can anyone answer this. Have 2 non moveable bolts on the door that are supposed to fit into a bracket on the door sill. Opened it up, now it won't latch. Like the bolts shrunk. Nothing I can see is loose. This is on an Entegra Esteem. Some wisdom would be appreciated.

If you look up just a few inches you'll see a window. Much easier to pop the window and reach in than prying a door open. Much concern over nothing. Main thing is to park in safe areas and keep your insurance paid up.

The deadbolt on my RV is double the size.

What can you do if the lock key Broke inside the lock and I is stuck and I cant lock the door anymore is there a way to still lock it?

Perhaps adjust the door....?

Or just busting out your window... ok so adjust your screen door my screen door has screws on the latch fittings...
