I made a commitment lately to paint immediately after watching a video. It is working great....I think I will paint my golden foreground and top sky together first. I will leave white on sides but let both sides run. I too am very glad I had discovered your advice! Big Thank you from Vancouver Island. And very happy and healthy 2024 in couple of days...You are a true artist but also a great teacher. Lessons are so much fun I am becoming addicted!

Painting a picture that is exactly like a photograph is never going to work. If you want that, then just frame the photograph! Thanks for showing how to create a painting from the photograph. That was so helpful!

The Long points are the absolute best. I can't survive without the Green Apatite Genuine & Jadeite Genuine on my palette. The Cascade Green can be fun, but I'd say that Green Apatite is an essential color for me. Love it. 💚

Oh boy, Steve! This is wonderful. My Steve Mitchell paints arrived this afternoon, and I got my swatches done, and checked my paint box to see which ones I didn't have. I found out that there are five colors I don't have, so I will get those as I need them, and I will also put in the palette the colors you mentioned you would like to have been able to add (which I already had in tubes), then add a few favorites of my own, such as buff titanium, and burnt sienna, and Hematite genuine. I love that Princeton Elite brush you used in the video. I always learn so much when you paint landscapes. Each lesson teaches me something new. Thanks for the video, and thanks for the lovely Steve Mitchell Daniel Green Paints! The cover to the box is on my bulletin board!

I really liked adding the grass in front after the lighter and mid values. It surprised me but I think you said it let you know what the values needed to be there. I forget that you can add limbs from the trunk or come into the trunk, thank you for that reminder, among others. Cheap joes has a set of what they call cheap brushes, they have a yellow handle. For me they are great for lifting among other things. The set is great and it will be around our house for a very long time. Please keep visiting with us, when you are painting, it is very helpful.

Great result and lesson. I love Green Apatite Genuine and Quinacridone Gold, I’ve just ordered larger tubes. The granulation is fantastic and really helps achieve an interesting look. I’ve got small tubes of Sodalite and Lunar Blue, and just ordered Hematite. Love Daniel Smith and in particular the many granulating colours as they seem to help the painting ‘paint itself’ if you know what I mean!

‘Got the new DS palette in the mail today, and it’s spectacular! The chosen colors are great, some are new to me, and this is my first time with this brand. I really do like them...smooth and creamy, highly pigmented. I use Schmincke watercolors almost exclusively, but I think I might be incorporating more DS into my palettes. Steve, you have to do more of these or at least up the production on this one so everybody who wants one gets a chance to order.

watching your vid on landscape color break down and was pleased to see that you are using a Princeton brush. I'm a newbie when it comes to watercolor and blindly bought a bunch of Princeton 4350 round Lauren brushes. I've tried other brushes but I found that they work best for me. I like the stiffness of the brush since I'm still learning brush control.

I love this! Thank you, Steve, for another inspiring session! You said a number of things that were just what I needed to hear. Kudos to Wet Paint: I ordered my palette right after I watched your unveiling video. I received an email from them this morning saying they were very sorry but they sold out of the palettes in 12 hours and their inventory software didn’t communicate that message to the shopping software so they oversold them. The good news is they have confirmed that they can obtain enough additional palettes to cover all the oversold folks (me) and all those on the waiting list. PLUS, they’re sending me a Hahnemuhle Zigzig book for the inconvenience. That’s great customer care!
