I smoke my tobacco another way: I learned from a trip to the Middle East just how obsolete cigarettes are when you can get some high-nicotine tobacco, you mill it in small fine parts and you smoke it through a small pipe made special for it. The reason why growing and processing it is needed in a case such as mine is that only the middle and bottom leaves are good, plus you need to grow only high-nicotine tobacco and have it air-cured, otherwise it's not the same. Afaik pipe tobacco is mainly mixed with air-cured and fire-cured leaves, which makes a big difference. Check out Wikipedia's page on Dokha tobacco for further info, although smoking solely finely-shredded tobacco without the bark and herb mix is the best and definitely gives a good kick that is caused by inhalation of high levels of nicotine. High levels are by no means harmful, you could get the same kick if you smoked 1-2 cigarettes with high nicotine tobacco first thing in the morning, right after another.

Mykle Bust So you're saying that you can get US whole leaf tobacco for about $10 a lb? A kilo here cost around $40-$50, or $20-$25 a lb. What does pre-cut "pipe" or rolling tobacco cost? The only reason to do this within the US is to get a better quality tobacco (less trash, chemicals, ect.) or from your own home grown leaf.
