@@prodbymai It is better for a man to walk on the face of the Sun than to fall into the hands of the LORD. Jesus Christ has paid the debt of your crimes against Him in full on the cross. To be a man standing before Almighty God guilty of blasphemy is a lesson that lasts all eternity. Please think very carefully about what it means for you to tell humans they can compare to infinite power and claim His title. He loves you more than you can possibly fathom my friend, your life will be over before you blink and then you must answer to Him.

When sidechaining using a break it is smart to put a short click sample as ur “side chain trigger” and put the midi of the click sample on the snare and kick so that ur not sidechaining the noise or the hi hats from the breaks. This also gives u way more control over the release Time of the compressor!

I believe what he’s saying is to have a midi drum channel and mirrors the drum track, and use that channel for the side chaining, not actual drum track which isn’t as clean - multiple Instruments and effects etc.

Instead of going through the sample and locking each transient to the beat you might have a better initial result from trying to get the first transient that appears after 16 bars on-beat, then working from there. Depending on how on beat the performers in the sample were it could be the only transient adjustment you need to do at all. You can also basically do this when you're detuning the sample instead but with less precision obviously

Honestly complex is the best though haha. You cant really do anything with them, it just tells ableton how to treat the sample when it warps it. Complex for any samples like this, beats for straight drum loops, tones for straight instruments like only keys or vocals, and thats about it. If you don't set the warp mode right, the warped sample will sound shitty.

@eugene5987 3 жыл бұрын
@@vekselthe4983 in ableton you can click "TAP" button to the left of the metronome to set the tempo, so he could've clicked that TAP button to the beat of the song to find the tempo instead of stretching it to the grid, however: I probably didn't realize, making this comment, that he already had his metronome set to the tempo he wanted (90 bpm, very popular tempo for boom-bap and old hip-hop using samples like this) Warping the sample using that detune setting at 2:43 to the speed closest to the grid/his tempo (90 bpm) is actually a pretty good idea to get the sample to correctly align with the correct set tempo, and then you can further edit it from there to make it perfectly fit the beat of your song.
