Hi Jonathan! For my freshman year, I took R1B, Poli Sci 1, Philosophy, and a Sociology class. I didn't really "discover" the Legal Studies major until my sophomore spring/junior year haha. But for the Legal Studies pre-requisites, I was able to test out of the Statistics pre-req and Social Behavioral pre-req from AP exams. I also took Stat 20 at Berkeley which counts towards the Statistics pre-req, so I technically like double completed requirements since I didn't find the major until later on. The philosophy course I took freshman year actually counted towards the philosophy pre-req, unintentionally once I learned about the Legal Studies major. Navya says - I took Math 10A/10B because it was calculus and statistics combined. It was very fast paced and challenging, but I wanted to be done with math requirements for medical school. Overall, I really enjoyed the class because Professor Stankova was great! You could also take Math 1A-lB with an additional statistics class (if you are on the prehealth track).

Navya says you can absolutely get a nursing degree in undergrad but typically this is intended for students who are pre-nursing! If you choose to apply to medical school with that degree, you may be asked in interviews/on the applications why you are choosing to become a doctor when you have a nursing degree. Some common majors for pre-med students include biology, chemistry, nutrition, and biomedical engineering. Ultimately you just need to take the few required classes to apply to medical school so definitely choose the major that is most interesting to you! Some universities in California you may consider are San Jose State, San Diego State, Cal Poly SLO, and any of the UCs. Hope this helps! Hi Sirisha! Unfortunately, MCB at UC Berkeley does not accept AP Calc exam scores to skip out of Math 10A, Math 1A, Math 10B, or Math 1B. This website states that AP Calc cannot be used to substitute for the math requirement - mcb.berkeley.edu/undergrad/major/major-requirements/requirements. However, MCB would allow you to use AP Chemistry scores of a 4 or 5 to skip Chem 1A/ Chem 1AL. However, it is recommended you still complete Chem 1A and Bio 1A at Berkeley even if you have the necessary AP test scores. @@sirishakarnati6198 Hi Sirisha! Navya says AP Stats is more useful because there is a stats recommendation/requirement for most schools. In general, you can't always use AP credits to "skip" premed classes in college. So in that case, the only determining factor is how helpful the course would be for premed classes - econ is not required at all!

Yes it is possible at Berkeley! There are a bunch of hospitals in Oakland and SF that students volunteer, intern, or work at during the school year and during summer!

@@koushikscartoonflix6050 I think it would depend on the college! If you have colleges that you are interested in, you can look up the college and their financial aid office to see what kinds of aid they offer students. Some colleges may provide a lot of aid/scholarships to international students whereas other colleges may provide very little. Hope that helps!
