This guy is even more OG than Gary V and Martin N. He’s been around since the 70s. You should hear him during his heyday. He is a member of the Circus band. All the singers in that band became famous and are all a big influence to the new breed of OPM singers.

Wow, he's one of our iconic male singers, you should have heard him sing in his prime. He had throat cancer, a survivor, but he can still pull it off. His voice is so dynamic. His songs were always used as movie soundtracks. He was one of the members of the Circus Band during the 70s and all of them became famous as solo artists in the 80s thru 90s. They were there before Regine V,.Martin Nievera and Gary V became famous. If only you can dig deeper in our Music industry, so much to discover👌👍😊

He's actually a well-respected veteran broadcaster in our country and loved by many. He is known as Mr. Public Service and has a heart of gold. His concept, investment, and efforts poured into the Wish 107.5 platform is one of the biggest factors in getting OPM back on its feet with a vengeance and giving the incredible opportunities for our aspiring musical artists. If you hear him in his prime, this song is just wow. The lyrics will cut you deep man, so many songs about love but this unending love in beautiful tagalog is heart-wrenchingly beautiful to me. Yes, this piece was always a winning song in different singing contest both local and national in the 80s and 90s all over the Philippines. Give the record version a spin and hopefully there is translation, it will bring this song to a different level.

🤮⭐Thank you for reacting to Basil Valdez, truly one of the icons of OPM (original Pilipino Music). He has an extensive body of work from the late 70s to the 90s, although his most prominent and commercially successful ones came during the 80s. This particular song, translated as "now and forever" in English, has become a classic and a staple for weddings. I was happy to see Basil on the Wish Bus when they had him on a few years ago and wished there was such a venue when e was at his prime. But then again, looking back, I had watched him on live TV shows, listened to him on live radio stations, and seen him perform live in person (a few times) back in the day and my heart is contented. I am just thankful that with the new technology these days, artists such as him and others from his generation are being brought to a much wider audience. Love the banter as usual. At that time Phil music is truly lyrically rich with such substance and delivery touches the soul. Most of his songs were either composed by George Canseco or could be Ryan Cayabyab. I would suggest find those songs..and you will immerse deeper into more of our revered music legends. Other songs he sung that I liked..Kastilyong Buhangin (means sand castle); You; Lift Up Your Hands; Tuwing Umuulan at Kapiling Ka; Ngayon; Hindi Kita Malilimutan - one of my ever favorites, touching and bittersweet ballad, helped comfort my heart when I bid final goodbye to loved ones.

My passport as a young singer along the Roxas blvd nicht club strip was his version of Corner of the Sky (Pippin) in the mid-80s. He was my north star as a singer. And for someone who had throat cancer, he sings pretty well. He was an icon who started the OPM Classics in the 70s along with Rico J Puno. His songs were popularized by Regine and other singers.

Thanks for this RV on one of the "super OGs" (i.e., one of the predecessors or "idols" of the OGs Gary V, Martin N, & Regine V, among others). BTW, the Breakthrough and Milestones Productions International (BMPI) CEO and President, Mr. Daniel Razon is the main man and literally the voice behind the tagline "Wish 107.5". He created the Wish Bus to be a neutral platform for upcoming artists without the boundaries of regular networks and agencies.

Basil Valdez sang the most difficult songs of multi-awarded composer George Canseco and National Artist Ryan Cayabyab. He has an English song "YOU", a light and heart-warming song which used to be the love theme song of many couples during my youth. I'm 63 now, so that was 45 years ago. His songs are immortal and awesomely delivered.
