I like their story. They used to do gigs before but the pandemic shut down everything. Jon and Gigi started live streaming just to earn some income, together with now Mr Tritone (studios). They started just in a room without fancy equipment. As they formed the band they went through a lot, even all sleeping in Gigi's living room, and basically lived there to comply with travel restrictions. So they are pretty tight. Gigi always used to say she will always be there for the band since they also stuck with her. With all her success now, I can see she always take the band with her including their recent USA tour. Their sacrifice and hard work paid off. I'm happy for them.

Yeah, I think Gigi related the story of their humble beginnings when Karen Davila interviewed them in her house. She showed the relatively small space where they used to do their live streamings before. It's in the garage of Tritone, their producer, which is just right across her house. Gigi and The Gigi Vibes band had gone a long way from just doing gigs and events because they're really very good and talented musicians.

Don’t care what other people say , this is Perfection to a T Her band is her family as only child and was raised by a single mom who raised her well and her first mentor growing up on singing and now she works hard for her mom for cancer treatment that’s why she’s so blessed 🙏

Being just a singer in the Philippines is not enough, in order for them to stay in the industry for a long time, they need to be a total performer or other talents and skills to back up their singing. For instance, Darren Espanto can sing, act, dance; Morissette also dance and write songs if I'm not mistaken; Gigi De Lana can act, in fact she starred in a series. There are plenty of singers you have yet to discover, and I'm excited to witness that journey of diving deeper to OPM (Original Filipino Music)

You got it! She's scrolling thru the lyrics from her device. Again this is a livrstream where they take request and sing the song. So there would be songs that they dont know very well and still sing it anyway. That is why there are mistakes. Sometimes they screw up and just laugh it out. A livestream lasts for 2 to 3 hours. Gigi sings around 10-15 songs, 20 max on a live stream. Song covers you see on their channels are just a cut from their livestream, just 1 song frm a set of songs sung during the live unless otherwise stated that it is a studio version.

Gigi De Lana is the sole breadwinner of her family, her mom is sick and diagnosed with stage-4 breast cancer and her parents were separated, that's why she works hard to provide foods, medicine and financial help to her mom. She's a beautiful and caring daughter.

Gigi's cover on 80's and 90's hit songs or even older really hits differently. Here in the Philippines kids sing even their great grand parent's fave song. During family gathering, we usually sing older songs so our older relatives can sing along with us, the reason we know more a lot of songs from the past eras. We'd love to see you on wish bus. There was a time that a lot of bars/pubs has house bands or invite cover bands to play regularly as part of their entertainment and play for 3 hours straight or more - in the Philippines and Hong Kong. Their repertoire are vast because they need to cater to all song requests of the patrons!!! All pros man... Just another day in the Philippines 😊 When you come to the Philippines, go bar hopping and see them in action 🤩

Gigi is like a one stop shop, if you crave any genre she can serve you anything you want. Versitility is her biggest asset. Philippines have so many talents just like this because we have a lot of singing contests were they could perform their talents. You can checkout also her fly me to the moon performance.

Guys if you notice, English is not our first language here in the Philippines. But when our singers sings English language their accent disappears and becomes neutral compare to other asian countries. Shes pressing on her cellphone sometimes for the lyrics and sometimes by browsing from her audience requests via social media apps. I'll remind you guys they don't use "auto tune" here in the Philippines. Its taboo.

this band, with gigi as its lead singer, is really more like a family. all those men are like her older brothers and they're soooo in sync with each other because, through the worst of the pandemic, they all lived together just so they could keep practicing and making videos (live and recorded) to earn a living. for obvious reasons, performers took a heavy hit during the pandemic and they are all breadwinners of their own families. add to that that gigi's mom is sick. they literally and figuratively did everything they could to hone their talents, accepting every single request, regardless of genre

She was scrolling through the lyrics. That video was from an original streaming during pandemic they would accept requests on the spot from the viewers. Their whole band is really amazing. That also is the trend in every restaurant in the country just like karaoke. With regards to the expression of the keyboardist at the near end of the song Through the Fire, he was signalling the band to cool down ( he is the musical director too ) , he was communicating with the drummer specifically. That eyebrow thing amongst majority of the Filipinos is common.

Hey Josh, "Believe It or Not" is still popular in the philippines. Good tunes are still played over and over. Thats why sometimes you hear old styles in new songs that make e you feel reminiscent. Here, if it's good, whether song or genre, it just doesn't die. 70s songs of all genres are still popular too. It isnt weird that you'd hear Eagles, Queen, James Ingram, Hall and Oates etc from time to time.

The Gigi vibe is one of the best singers group that ever happens in the Philippines ever… She is the best of the best and her band . She can pretty much can do anything period … Please listen to her other covers and they’re they’re just simply amazing and the sweetest vice ever …. It’s what they eat in the Philippines and what they eat everyday seafood, tropical fruits veggies and coconuts juice and everything else in the Philippines what’s makes it very very special of their voices period … Gigi is one of theirs singer that can sing anything period …. Also , most of their music are mostly requested from people around the world . That’s why some times she have to read the lyrics when she don’t know some of them . But she’s just amazing that she can just do it by requests in the spot period …. That’s why her band and her are just the best of the best ever …. Gigi, Morisette, and Katrina Velarde all grew up joining singing contests almost every week since they were kids so that was their training ground. No music schools or formal music training for these monsters. Next up on the Gigi list, please watch her ocvers of This Love, Fly me to the Moon, and any of her Alanis Morisette and Paramore's covers. Those are her favorites, i believe

Most babies in a lot of countries, cry when they are born into this world, right? Here in the Philippines, our babies start to sing their hearts out from the time they are born. Why, you may ask? Well, when the Filipina mother has confirmed that she is pregnant, she would start listening to music, to various songs day in day out for the whole duration of her conceiving her baby, whether baby boy or baby girl. Imagine this for months & months. The baby would have developed a keen sense of hearing and believe me, Filipinos love to sing.

always enjoyable to watch music analyses liie dynamic like these because Filipinos don't think when they sing even when they play music. everyone plays by ear and feels the music throughout every song. sessionists like this band are dime a dozen in our country. we're so underrated but so talented

Since you're getting the vibe of the band scene in the PH, you might want to check out this group of (biological) brothers who do amazing covers from bands of the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's called REO Brothers. They do excellent covers of The Beatles but also do Bee Gees, America, Beach Boys, EWF, etc. They're self-taught instrument players who get invited to perform The Beatles songs year after year at The Cavern Club in Liverpool, England. Also, other bands worth checking out are indie-folk band Ben&Ben (Araw-Araw, Ride Home, Leaves), funk-rock band IV of Spades (Mundo, Hey Barbara, Come Inside of My Heart, Take That Man), indie-rock band December Avenue (Kung 'Di Rin Lang Ikaw - feat. Moira dela Torre), rock band The Juans (Hindi Tayo Pwede, Dulo) on the Wish Bus.

Hey guys... What a wonderful story with these guys. When the pandemic came up Gigi needed a way to help her mother pay for cancer treatment. So her boyfriend now husband, Erwin Lasca started putting the band together, they actually lived in Gigi's house, they live downstairs her mother upstairs. They ate all their meals together played everyday, the guys slept on cots in the same room. OMG 😱 all of them have laptops now, they have production meetings for their new songs. Everyone's a professional with musicality. This is the perfect storm of talent and production. This will definitely not be your last reaction to Gigi!!!! 💕

Well I think its only an engagement ring. They are not yet married. Please watch in one of her concerts wherein a couple from the crowd had a marriage proposal that Gigi cried😢 because how she wish to experience the same too.😮

Those songs were pretty popular back in the days. She probably picked it up from her parents. The 80s and 90s are pretty big here. Even young musicians would know them.... Btw, I always love your reactions coz I would learn something about music.

Live bands tend to bank 100s of songs and singers familiarize themselves with the melody and lyrics books are there since sometimes they forgot the lyrics so they have something to go back to just incase.
