If you are amazed at his voice, what is even amazing is his life story. His father went to prison and his mom abandoned him when he was a young kid. During this time until adulthood, he lived on the streets. He said that when he gets lonely, he would sing. Later on, he wanted to find his parents and he realized that the only way he could find them was joining a taleny show, Philippines Got Talent. While he was a contestant on the show, there became a nationwide search for his parents. At the show's finale, his parents were there where he won first prize. Note that when he won, he never had any voice lessons and he did not join the show for fame or money but to find his parents who abandoned him at so young an age. Now that he is famous, he remains as humble as ever. Talk about a story for the underdog.

Many comments about the Philippines having these abilities and I think it is because if you look at their skull shape with a flat wide nasal cavity and I think that is partially the reason this is why it is physically able to do it. I know he practiced this song for 15 years beginning singing to chickens that he took care of to make money.😅😅😅

FYI, back in the days (90s-early 2000) in our country(Philippines) double-kara is very popular in a singing contest w/c the singer dressed up famale and the other side is male outfit. They also sings famale and male voices as well. That's why we Filipinos don't be surprise if there is a person named marcilito can perform such wonderful talent. Ther are so many talented Filipinos that should be recognize worldwide... Coz they deserve the global spotlights. Maraming salamat (thank you so much).

They're not hispanic they don't know what doble-kara means. It means 2-face or double face. That contest features individuals with similar talent male/female voice although Marcelito took it to a different level. They literally paint half of their face with male and female, same as the dress half man half woman.

When he was a kid begging on the streets, he hung around karaoke places and started imitating the original singers. That’s how he got off the streets. By the way this kind of singing is called double Kara or two faced pointing to the fact that there seems to be two people singing.

MARCELITO POMOY Is the Grand Champion Winner of "Pilipinas Got Talent", Season 2. He did not have any Vocal Training Background but he learned to utilized his innate Soprano-Tenor Vocal Range to his advantage, through his Unique Solo Male-Female Voice Performances. In 2019, he was Invited to Compete in America's Got Talent", under its featured "The Champions" Season. He placed 4th but many (including Music Experts) have questioned that and expressed belief that he was deserving a higher ranking than what he got and I agree.

Want another example of crazy Filipino talent check out the TNT Boys singing "Listen" on James Cordons "Worlds Best" talent show. It only aired one season but these three young guys stole the audiences hearts.

Fun Fact: There is a popular contest in the Philippines called "Doble Kara" where all the contestants are solo singers that must sing a duet song, just like what Marcelito did in this performance. It usually happens during fiestas in small towns and there's even national tv contests for it. It is very fun watching solo performers do duet songs. ❤🤗🎤🎵

Marcelito Pomoy joined the America Got Talent because he's a champion in PILIPINAS Got Talent, just like any Talent shows under other countries worldwide..His voice if I may say, has a natural female voice that's why all of his entry songs he did were more on the female songs than male songs..He has this unique ability to sing effortlessly ..☺️😘 For me, it's a gift..We are not rich country but we have rich talented artist that most Filipinos possess..We are so blessed with it.. 😂😂

With his unique talent, I wonder how he is doing in his professional life. With the right production he is perfect for a Las Vegas residency. Not everyone can afford tickets for an Adele or Lady Gaga show but tourists and locals would love him.

It's an almost lost art of "Doble kara" (loosely translated as double face) type of singing. The main idea is to sound "alike" with the original artist. Marcelito is of course the breakout international star. He's never gotten formal training. All self-taught because he had to find a way to survive. Hahaha you guys seeing get all bothered but in the best way possible is so fun. Next one you should check out is none other than KZ Tandingan (tan-dee-ngan) start with "Rolling In The Deep" on the singing contest show Singer.

That's common in Filipino karaoke sessions. Everybody sings two voices in a duet songs, and it's fun. We didn't know that it would turn out to be a talent of Filipinos. We call it "DOBLE-KARA".

Hi Guys, Marcelito had no Vocal Training in his whole freaking life. He discovered his talent while tending Chickens in his Coop. Try to check his performances at America Got Talent: The Champion Edition where he sang The Prayer, Con Te Partiro (Time to say Goodbye), and Beauty and the Beast. The audience was overwhelmed and wanted him to win but as we all know/knew about Simon Cowell, Marcelito ended up 4th Place with full of controversies from the start to finish against Marcelito. It's called "Doble Cara", Spanish for double-faced. And he is singing it in Italian and he is sitting down; that's impressive. Apparently, this phenomenon is rather common in the Philippines. There is a Filipina lady who competed in the singing contest: Britain Got Talent, and she was doing a "Doble Cara" as well, and the audience went wild and could not believe what they were hearing. I love watching people's first reaction to hearing Marcelito. You just can't believe what you are hearing. Is this real? I saw him live in Chicago a few years ago and even though I have heard him hundreds of times I too sat there with my mouth open not believing how good he is. His voice is so pure and clean. He sings like we breathe. It's nothing to him. And you can't take your eyes off him. This is raw God given talent and he deserves all the accolades he gets. Seen him in a number of settings, even doing a duet with Morissette live on stage. He is never animated, or even show any strain. BTW I understand that in PH people simply sit and sing. Perfectly normal.

Marcelito takes this song to yet another level in the release of his album, "Duet Yourself". Since it is a tracked recording, he includes all of the harmonies where Bocelli and Dion sing together in harmony. It is quite beautiful with Marcelito singing the lead (Bocelli) in tenor/baritone and the alto harmony (Dion) in countertenor. This song also includes a marvelous background orchestra. Marcelito was one of those artist which made Wish Bus famous. Since you have dove this far back might as well check the other artist together with marcelito's performance back then, like Darren Espanto's "Chandelier & I Believe". Don't know if you have reacted to Morisette's "Chandelier and Secret Love Song" version. Katrina Velarde's "Go the Distance". I'll tell you all of them are "INSANE" versions of the original. These performances are basically the backbone of WISH BUS.

I read that the gesture he made when he was finished singing was symbolically ejecting the female spirit from his body. I thought the other performance that freaked you out was going to be the Ukrainian band Jinjer's live in the studio performance of the song "Pisces". But it looks like you haven't done that one either. See "Jinjer - Pisces (Live Session) | Napalm Records - KZfaq". There's a reason it has 72 million views.
