An Alakazam Magic UK Exclusive
Alakazam Magic are pleased to offer you PRESTIGE. This amazing effect is the perfect opener and in fact it’s perfect to perform at any point during your act.
There is absolutely no force required to perform this effect!
Instead of giving you a long description, all we will say is PRESTIGE is totally customizable and even though it comes with routine ideas you can write whatever you like on the cards.
Make Your Choice - Julio Montoro & Juan Capilla
www.stevensmag...
Now there is a close up version of the hugely popular effect. Have you ever thought of performing the classic right from your pocket? Now, with Make Your Choice you can!
You will be able to show the cards as close as possible, as there is anything strange involved. The selection is 100% freely chosen! Their main objective was creating that could allow you to put this “big illusion” in your pocket to perform it anytime you want. Now, after all the hard work of production Make Your Choice can be released.
The gimmick does all the work for you, there is no chance you could fail during the performance. The cards have been constructed with whiteboard foil, so you can customize the cards as many times as you want!
Make Your Choice by Julio Montoro and Juan Capilla does not use any of the old methods used for this effect, as there are no forces or flaps involved!
What will you get with Make Your Choice?

Make Your Choice, good and bad: This is cheap enough that I can tell how it's done, it's not cost effective to try recreate it. It would take several hours, if not days, to make something even close. It uses magnets. The great part about it is that no matter how you orient the cards or flip them, the cards still attract to each other, it does not repel. Super cool. You won't accidentally flip it around and have it drop to the ground and expose how it's done to spectators. And the cards are pretty well made. I suspect they'll last years. The dry erase works great as well. (Comes with a marker with eraser-cap) There is an issue with them being slightly see-through in some lighting conditions. And the sleeves that you slide the cards in and out of are super tight, and they were stuck together when I bought them. It took me 20 minutes to unstick all 5 of them. Maybe that was just my product, though. The method requires you to bring the 6th card behind the Choice card inside the sleeve. The magnets keep them together as you pull it out. The trouble is that in order to keep the 6th card out of sight, you have to either palm it or hide it behind the sleeves. And because they are all the same size, you have to be extremely proficient with how you slide it up and down to make sure you don't flash it by accident. It is difficult to do. The easiest way to hide it is to hold your hand in a very unnatural position to cover up the edge, and it doesn't present well. The Prestige does not have this problem. So while the cards are high quality and it is easy to rewrite them with the dry-erase, it is harder to pull off the magic effect. The Prestige uses a much cleverer system that is easier to get away with, at least from far away. The Make Your Choice is Close-Up effect, so they'll more than likely notice a flash if you are less than perfect. But practice makes perfect. I recommend buying it if you need a close-up effect of the Prestige, as the price isn't too bad. I just wish more thought had been put into the method and that the creator had done a better job explaining it and giving advice/tips on the performance. The whole video is only 20 minutes.

I'm pretty sure the classic mentioned in the Make Your Choice ad copy is Of Dice and Men rather than Prestige

Always very useful to review magic products so that people can understand what they ACTUALLY get as opposed to the hype. How many people have bought magic products only to be extremely disappointed when it arrives?!A great heads up for these products so that people can make real educated choices.Thanks.

Hi David - I purchased both of these items a little before you added your video. So I just added them to my site and thankfully I could slip your video right in too - saves me doing any extra work. I like it when I can find quality resources like your videos to help add some depth to my site. Thanks! andy

Hi David - as you know I'm all about the props! What I would like to see you do more of is take a prop you perform with or are familiar with and demonstrate it and then review it and/or talk about its history. That would provide some extra texture to your book, professional development, and personality profile videos you already do such a great job with, and give us prop guys more to chew on 🙂

Great review for both products. I saw were Craig Petty had the Prestige on his review show. And because of all the hype about magic products that are coming out I will watch as many review shows before buying something that I may never use.

The first Prestige was not dry erase, then they came out with a dry erase, and now they have improved the gimmick. I assume the basic apparatus will continue to evolve. The problem for me is that I will not continue to invest as it evolves. It's an expensive item. Not the most expensive, but certainly not cheap. I think its good, but at this point, I have two, so I am unlikely to purchase any more innovations of this item

I’ve been retired from stage hypnosis and mentalism for 10 years, so I don’t know the method; I think it’s a fold/fall down flap locked with magnets. Anyways, I’d that’s the case, couldn’t you swap out the cardboard in Prestige for thin styreen sheets. That you can dry erase.
