Production of handmade ladies' boots - Leather ankle boot

A women's boot completely handmade from the last construction, pattern to the shaft construction to the finished boot. The complete manufacturing process can be seen in this video.
The ankle boot is made entirely from leather and traditionally welted by hand.
The joint spring (supporting the arch of the foot) is made of beech wood.
The boot was a challenge for me, as it was the first time I had made a women's shoe with a higher heel. I also took the customer's (daughter's) wishes into account during production.
Have fun with the video ...
I do not sell shoes!

Is that soul a fiddle back? I've seen some on men's dress shoes and it looks similar to the shape you got from carving the shank, though a little more pronounced I think. I've thought a stiletto fiddle back would look really good for a couple of years now. On an unrelated note I'm wondering if you have the footage to do a more in depth video on last making.

If I may Ask why is a Wooden heel not good i would think it would be way more durable and a Thick Wedgetan Leather what it seems to be shouldnt be much more Couchin than a Softwood as for example Fir or Pine especially when you install a Couchioning Layer like cork. Or am i Mistaken. Im a Complete Novice in the Craft of making Shoes therefor sorry if the Question is a Stupid one.
@nangmil
@nangmil 9 күн бұрын
 @sulimo8231 First of all, I'm not english user, so this comment might be hard to understand. Normaly leather layered heel can give more coushion than wood layerd heel. Of course wood based heel is exist, like Birkenstock. Corks are very rare case, and they are very vulnerable at water. So if you walk only sunny day, full cork outsole might be possible. (Maybe full cork heel might breake down by the weight) But except cork, at nature, easist material to get which gives high couchioning was leater. So the typically(same as historically) shoe outsole heel was made of leather. Only few shoe makers use wood layerd heel(like MDF wood heel) because the lower cost than leather layerd heel. MDF wood heel can't cushion enough, so it might damage the walker And the sound of walking is different also.
