Production of an oak garden bench of my own design. I would like to hear your opinion about it.
This video is in no way an "how you should do it" video, it is just an illustration of my way of making things.

I always use a starting pin or other point to lever off of when flush trimming on the shaper . One catch could be catastrophic

Great production! But maybe 2-3 degrees more tilt on the backrest? Looks very upright

Thanks, max tilt is limited by the initial width of slab which in this case is 160mm

Very nice but how the hell did that router (idk if it is one, but it's the same effect) table do its job? It looked like you went too deep, next scene the template was flush before and after but deeper after it was cut. I thought I saw a bearing, but I'm now questioning it. I'd guess you were free hand but it was way too straight. What guided you when finishing the sides with said router? Was there a bearing? :S very very nice work and results though, I'm not used to dominos so initially wondered why not mortices, stupid thoughts haha. I'm making a garden bench myself as an amateur, made a mortice and tenon which took 3 hours for one joint-my first lol. My dad was proud as a handyman by trade, reassured me with a slither off cut when I got frustrated making it too side haha

On both routers were used bearings. And yes, using the dominos makes the workflow much faster

@@mengaartwoodworking4788 haha I was sure magic was going on :') I couldn't see what the template was, as what I thought was a template was getting cut too lol. Really, is that so :o I did look at a domino tool today actually, a biscuit tool was only £60 which is good for what it is.. idk if there's a difference between biscuit and domino where the machines concerned though, it didn't say whether thickness is changeable

@@mengaartwoodworking4788 I will! And undoubtedly I'll be impressed with your kit as much as your skill, I really liked the bench in this video. I had wondered what the strength would be in that arm rest, no kidding about dominos being strong...but stronger?! Wow, ok :o I'll really look into all this. Thanks so much fella!

Please don't think I'm being off, buddy, I'd genuinely like your opinion on what seems an accurate test between mortice and dominos? :) See, when you mentioned dominos being stronger I was thinking maybe that's so, mortices splintering as an all in one joint with post. But dominos are fit with friction and glue, which has indeed been proven strongest to fuse wood. This is so interesting :D kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hM5ke5yexrzOdoE.html
