she's had vocal nodules since she was kid so her range "ranges" day to day which is why she wasnt able to train in opera like her mother(i'm guessing). she had to develop her own style sounds and techniques. every interview i found with her discussing her octaves she says she doesnt really know sometimes its 3 sometimes its 5 but it ultimately depends on her cords

Great reaction! I love Mariah so much. Mariah's voice is quite distinct and unique not to mention her style of singing as well. I've listened to her whole entire discographies and her songs are so dynamic and require insane amount of skills! She uses every part of her voice lows, mid, and upper belts, whistles, falsettos, and her agility is insane, she's to me the most agile vocalist we've ever encounter so far no one is more agile than her. Her songs are some of the hardest songs I've listened. She is called The Songbird Supreme for many reasons. We would love to see more Mariah reaction from you.

@@markosgoniadze1174 actually she has some C8 in studio and an old vocal coach said that she can easily pass the piano but he said her to not go that high, going into the eighth octave (he said that) isn't pleasing to hear, and it's unhealthy And she was smart enough to follow his advice No one likes Georgia Brown singing voice, she's only known for her supersonic notes If Mariah can go that high is out of question, that Bb7 was sooooo effortless

Her recorded range is 5,5 octaves lowest note being F sharp 2, and her highest is a harmonized Bb7(bliss). Her live is range is 5 octaves lowest note Gsharp2 and highest live note Gsharp7

Pretty sure her range is like 5.2 octave and was/is able to reach into the 7th :) pretty sure she still has her full range to this day!

Cody Walsh her vocal coach once claimed Mariah had sung higher than piano notes which means above C8. Though we can never be sure it's a possibility .

Art Aspire knowing Mariah she most probably did tbh, her voice did so many magical things that are hard to believe, I mean look at her success over the last 30 years...all done with nodules 😎

Cody Walsh she also sing down to an A1 but it was in fry. And I'm sure there are at least a few 100 people in the world with wider ranges than Mariah but her control was non human.

Art Aspire Oh yes there are people who have a wider range but just because they can go that high doesn't mean they should ;) it's dreadful hehe and yes her control and her musicality is beyond human, nobody else does it like her

Live she has gone down to G#2 and up to Bb7 so surely she could access notes above C8. However, musically it's not as pleasant so she probably refrained from going way up there (for her standards, that is lol) often. And there have only been a handful of people with a range as wide or wider than hers. However, none have her control and tone.

B MC Mariah Eb2-B7 (5.4 octaves) Axl Rose F1-Bb6 (5.2 octaves) Reaching notes of 6th octave doesn’t mean you have a 6 octaves vocal range. I still don’t know why people are so delusional about it.

B MC I have read some of this websites myself and they should be reported for misinformation. Axl’s vocal range, even if you don’t know a thing about music, is simple math 6-1=5. Or claiming Mariah has only 4 octaves, the lowest C3 and the highest E7 or G7. Of course, at 48 she doesn’t have that grand range but you cannot deny the impossible things she has done. Most of her songs are vocally suicide to sing. They don’t give her enough credits.

Most singers with nodes on their chords find that to be the kiss of death but Mariah uses them to her advantage and sings in the cracks of them to help with her whistle register. She is like no other. Yes, there are women out there with this register and Minnie Ripperton was a groundbreaker back in the day for sure.

Her vocal range is 5 octaves and 2 semitones live. Her lowest note registered is and F2 in the songs My all and Sweetheart and highest note is a Bb7 live during her MTV music awards performance in 1992 where she performed Emotion she also hit a G7 at Arsenio hall with Emotions as well

Her lowest note live is F2 (unsupported) and her highest a Bb7/B7 squeak when singing emotions. This would give her a 5 octave and 5/6 semitone vocal range throuhout her entire career
