I wanted to make new site location signs for our RV Park, so after doing some research on exterior signs I decided to make them from PVC trim boards.

Thank you Robert, I see people struggling to get started and just want to help them understand it is easy once you take the plunge.

Thanks Christopher, right now I am making some trail signs in the pattern of National forest signs, and some goodies to sell in our retail shop

Thank you, Ron. Those signs were absolutely beautiful. But what type of bit did you use on that project? Thanks again!

Standard 1/4" spiral upcut spiral straight bit for clearing, and 60 degree vbit for the details and lettering

Ron, this is a very good video! I can't find the kind of PVC you purchased at Home Depot. You purchased 11in Wide by 1in thick. Can you provide a brand name or SKU? Also, after you completed all the CNC work. Did you get a surface that did not need any further machining work? Did you coat the finished sign with any kind of finish? Thank you very much for your comments! Mike from Denver

Hi Mike - it's called Veranda - usually only available on line in these widths. I have purchased narrower material in the molding sections of my local store. Model 827000204 Internet# 316293572 Store SKU# 1006203520

Ron, I am brand new to the CNC world and looking at the HD520. The video was great! What spindle were u using with the machine. Was is Bosch 1617? Also do you have any experience with the water cooled spindle from Next wave? Thank you! John

Hi Jerry, yes it is a Bosch 1617 EVS - I've just always liked the simplicity of using a Router and it's ability to use 1/2" shanked bits as needed. You would need to step up to their 3HP to do that and I can buy quite a few Bosch for that $$ :-)

Great video!!! Could you do that with a 510?
@jamesbardinelli8435 Жыл бұрын
Do you own a 510 also? I just bought one and I'm trying to create a plan for a simple and sturdy bench

Sure, sorry I didn't even think about there would be comments on the video - darn rookie youtuber right? - you can easily do this on a 510 or HD500

Does Shark make any models that are 36 or 48 by 48 in size, or just 24?

Are you able to x,y touch plate zero on the hd520? If so, how? I would love to be able to do thatl on mine.

only the Z - everything else is by sight, I usually use a v-bit

Hey Ron, did you purchase your pendant holder or make it? Do you have any pictures of CNC benches people use? I just bought an HD510!
@ronshapland7990 Жыл бұрын
Hi James, I purchased it on Amazon, any standard camera mount will work. Sorry I don't have any pics, but I know a lot of people use the shop stands from Rockler - www.rockler.com/rockler-customizable-shop-stand

@@ronshapland7990 appreciate the info. I ended up making one and securing it with 3/8 black pipe and flange. It will swivel, but I have to loosen the bottom bolt. That sucker won't break off anytime soon!

No spoil Board?
@ronshapland7990 Жыл бұрын
Hi Mark, I have a spoil board but they are removeable slats - didn't need it for this instance as I wasn't cutting through which is when I generally use them.
