Brandon vs Chewy - Super Fun Roll in the Gym (No Gi Jiu Jitsu Training)

This is an older piece of footage of me and my buddy Nick Albin aka Chewjitsu or Chewy. He has hands down the best Jiu Jitsu channel on KZfaq.
This was filmed well over a year ago now at his Jiu Jitsu academy in Louisville called Derby City Martial Arts.
Obviously Chewy is a much bigger and stronger and younger guy than me (not to mention that he still actively competes), so he's not trying to murder me here which I really do appreciate!
I know a lot of you ask for rounds of me rolling with black belts all the time, but it's actually kinda hard to find black belts that don't mind having rolling footage available. I'm really lucky to have built some great friendships over the years through Jiu Jitsu and travelling and I really do think Chewy is just the cream of the crop. He's a great guy, with very good technique and he's a winner in all aspects of his life; business, Jiu Jitsu, and personal.

Super cool to see high level guys having a chill, fun roll with some laughs and such thrown in. My favorite partners and I roll like this too (but at a MUCH lower level :) and it's a blast. Every once in a while we'll go hard, but keeping things chill keeps us on the mat - we're all >50 yo.

That was amazing to watch, to get to see my favorite vProfessors go at it was incredible. I learned a ton watching this a few times. BJJ is the best thing this world has to offer.

Finally catching all this. I really dig the subtle positioning of the left foot at 1:38 to prevent the back take during that rolling kimura. Very slick. Super fun roll.

Awesome roll. I got to roll with Brandon once at 10th planet Costa Mesa. His style is awesome. So much pressure. I try to roll similar to him. Also had a great conversation with him after. Great coach. Wish i close to his gym.

What is the name of the hip thrust/switch that hops you over his butterfly hooks at 2:47? Super smooth!

Not really a move. He might've felt that chewys legs and arms were over extended and he just took a big step/little hop over the knees and was probably hoping to land in mount but either way, it was helpful. Instead of fighting the upper body tie and butterfly hooks, he just went with it.
