Every single upscaled cutscene from Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy. Some of the smaller details like faces far away or items in the background are still a little iffy, but generally, I'm really happy with how it's turned out, and I hope you are too! The frames were a lot less compressed than the Spectre's Call ones, so the quality is significantly better than those scenes.
Please note: If you'd like to use these upscaled cutscenes for a project, you're more than welcome to do so, so long as you credit me and link back to this video or the cutscene upload on HershelDearest. It's taken an awfully long time to do this, so to have it all stolen would be rubbish. Thanks folks.
Next up, I'll be doing the Miracle Mask cutscenes, though I haven't even started on extracting the frames from the cutscenes yet, so it'll be a while before I get those ones done.

The twist always feels kinda strange to me. It's cute, but it makes no sense that Descole would just keep it secret and spend like, 3 games tryna kill Layton

I agree lol, although I do actually think that they had plans for it earlier on, seeing as Layton claimed to vaguely recognize him. It just feels like they weren’t quite sure how to implement it.

It is weird. Maybe the time apart and his hatred towards their father got in the way? Clearly, Hershel didn't really remember much and even though he wasn't actively searching for the Azran, having him interfere would ruin his personal revenge......Descole, you dramatic ass.

The Prequels are weirdly well planned because Emmy being not what she seemed was foreshadowed in a journal entry unlocked after the cutscene of her kicking Three Eyed Jake’s boys.

I have to wonder, did anyone else suspect that Professor Sycamore and Descole were one and the same just by seeing Raymond in the first cut-scene?

That is one thing I didn't know how to feel about. I started with Azran Legacy, so I didn't know either Raimond or Descole, but was told who Descole was mid-game. So, when I played first two games, I was shocked seeing them together, being a dead giveaway for everyone who played those games before AL. It's really strange they decided to do it this way.

@@wouldyourather6105 still, it was very disappointing. At the end, descole’s reveal was still presented very cinematically and as if it should have been a great surprise. I get that this makes the most sense inside the world itself, because why would descole/Desmond have two different sidekicks, but I’m sure they would have found a way.

25:50 - 27:39 probably both my absolute favorite cutscene ever (in all the games I've played) mostly bc of how it be HITTIN THE HEART STRINGS G O D literally crying in the club rn dhmu /lh but also bc The Emotion of that scene was just like the animation is so well done and like GODS its just so good >o

Since Descole went on a new adventure and we haven’t heard from him for a long time (The Curious Village, Diabolical Box, and the Unwound Future happens after this), do you guys think its possible that he might be in America and possibly get a cameo from him in the upcoming new game? Even if not, I’d still think it’d be cool to see some of the other characters from other games in the end credits or something like that.

Doubt it, tbh. Descole only works as a character in the new one if you already know him from previous entries. For many people, NWoS will be their first Layton game, so I reckon other than Layton and Luke, nobody else will return.

This, and 1/3 of Katrielle and the Millionaire’s Conspiracy, are the only Layton games I’ve played. But I am VERY stoked for New World of Steam, maybe Descole will return, maybe he already has and I just didn’t know. But whatever awaits us in AMURICA I’m more than overjoyed to find out. Just PLEASE dial down on the trick puzzles, seriously the Millionaire’s Conspiracy had WAY too many of them.

You should play the original trilogy (Curious Village, Pandora's Box, Unwound Future). In my opinion (and many others'), they are much better than Katrielle's.

It was never formally released by Level 5, but a few people have done covers of it on here. I think it's called 'The Last Golem' or 'The Legacy Falls'.
