A year after they solved the mystery, they are reunited.
What you’re seeing now are the Special Episodes. You unlock these after beating the game. They’re mostly a collection of stories that take place a year after the game. References are aplenty here and there are also bonus puzzles. You don’t get penalized if you fail and you don’t have to spend any hint coins.

YES GODOT REFERENCE!!! 17 cups of coffee during any given trial. Also they aren't breaking the fourth wall they are demolishing it, using ignaize, then finally covering it with tnt to blow it up, just to dance on what little remains there are.

Awesome! More Phoenix and Layton! What awaits them in these Special Episodes? When I heard Espella say "Are you Mr. Hershel Layton?" And Layton asking if he could help like he did not know her I thought: "WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO YOU BOTH!?!" Odd thing to do doing how you guys first met out of nowhere like that. They had me going for there. And wow guys what's up with breaking the 4th wall?

These episodes are going to be delish! Incinerating the fourth wall and references from their respected games. Heck the main story was full of references. :P Looking forward to the adventure!

I'LL SHOW YOU PROOF. *TAKE THAT* REMEMBER THE PREVIOUS LINES FROM THE PAST EPISODE TALKING ABOUT A SPECIAL EPISODE? THAT WAS WHEN THE 4TH WALL WAS DESTROYED. SO... IN OTHER WORDS.... *moves head up and down* Correct, but the wall had to be broken in some part of the timeline. Because before the special episode, the wall was still there, until when they started to talk about the *extra content*. I believe that's when the wall started to be demolished.
