All around the world childhood is in crisis. Children are expected to grow up faster than before, and as a consequence they sleep less, read less and spend less time outdoors. Growing evidence from health and education research is a wake-up call to parents and teachers to listen more carefully what our children want. In this presentation I explain what is the state of play in Australia today and how more play would save our schools and help all children thrive in and out of school.
