NOBODY enjoyed this video more than I did! I'm the artist on that one (I go by Bigelow Illustrations as well as Chris Bigelow), so thank you, Donnalouise! I'm a loyal subscriber and to see "The Professor" get featured was a thrill :) I can share some fun facts about this puzzle on KZfaq: 2 years ago the "Jigsaw Chill Zone" channel had something called a "Puzzle World Tour". People completed puzzles and photographed the boxes in different (and usually silly) situations before forwarding it to the next participant. The Professor had quite an adventure, and it felt a bit surreal for me to see. I ended up customizing the shop image for the channel to use in opening sequences , which I believe it still does. 1 year ago @Vikipuzzles did a timelapse video (no narration) Last week "Sue Burgundy Puzzle " also did a review and timelapse! I did this delightful puzzle on SunsOut (1000 pc) 11 months ago. It was used; got it as part of my trade group. One piece in the large blue sign area was chewed up a bit. Couldn't tell if it was from a vacuum cleaner or a cat, but I was able to clean it up and color it in, so it blended pretty well. I see the artist posted, too! How cool is that!

Good on you for fixing the piece. My hubby has made me a few replacement pieces and they always looked good and blended in. And yes, I’m so excited that Chris Bigelow the artist commented and watched my video!! 💜🧩

And when you are not expecting it to stick and a bunch of the puzzle comes up with it, then falls apart…so frustrating! The image is so fun.

Never tried this brand before, pretty image. White Mountain puzzles have a few puzzle shop puzzles images or living rooms with puzzle pieces on a coffee table images, really sweet

I wish I could get White Mountain puzzles in NZ. The two that I have done were so much fun and I loved their pieces.

I most enjoy gradient and geometrical shapes in puzzles but you always choose really great artwork puzzles so I am definitely giving more of them a go.

Cool! I definitely prefer colourful fun illustrations and since starting my channel have found a new love of gradients. Maybe you could recommend your favourite geometrical shape puzzles for me??

I really enjoyed "Symmetry" and "Cascade" from Cloudberries, symmetry seems quite challanging since its 1000 pieces but it has enough different shapes and colors that it is fun to put down the pieces and Cascade is a mix of shapes and gradient which I put together rather quickly and was just in a constant flow so that was a lot of fun to build for me :) @@fortheloveofpuzzles

I find if you gently push the stuck pieces together as you are lifting them apart, it is easier to get them apart.

I just did my first Bluebird puzzle this week. It was a busy image of retro photography equipment so fun and easy. But I did think that if there had been any large areas of similar colour, the piece cut would have been difficult! Overall good quality though, the small prongs did seem strong even when unsticking them 😄

Bluebird does have a lot of fun images to puzzle. I definitely don’t enjoy disassembling a sticky jigsaw puzzle. 💜🧩

I love Bluebird puzzles. The 4000 piece puzzles come in 2 x 2000 piece bags, so you have the option to mix bags or not. Hubby and I do 2000 pieces each and join them up. No poster though which is a shame.

A poster really should be included with a puzzle that size. No way the image on the box is big enough. 💜🧩

Great work with the puzzle. I do not usually tend to pick these busy types of puzzles however this one looks really nice. Maybe I will give it a go. It looks good for "the build as you sort" method of puzzling. I have to try it sometimes however I am more of a full sort kind a puzzle girl 😀

Love the image. I just finished a Gallison which is a new brand for me. Loved the image, not the quality of the pieces. The pieces had 2 size prongs, skinny and wide. The skinny ones were so thin at the base that some were buckled or bent. Is the Magnolia puzzle The Dissectologist? Nice pickup!

CORRECT!! I love the dragons in the image and can’t wait to do it. I understand you so well - I have done like two Galison and am in no rush to go buy anymore.

Love the image! I've just bought my first puzzle by Grafika but I've never done Bluebird. Do you find their pieces similar? I hope I don't have the same issues.

I felt the pieces were similar in size - many Bluebird were slightly smaller by the littlest amount - but I enjoyed the pieces in the 1k Grafika more than those in this Bluebird. I don’t remember having sticky pieces with the Grafika puzzle. 💜🧩

Hi Donnalouise, I've never done a puzzle following the image so closely, I prefer to make a nice division by color and shade and then proceed with the construction of the pieces. I have to try to do like you, in any case, my best time for a 1000-piece puzzle is around 41 minutes and I'm trying to improve my record. As always a wonderful video and I love your enthusiasm. As always, great video. Compliments. Love😍

Let me know if you do try my method, what you think of it? you completed a 1,000 in just 41 minutes?! How is that possible?! Had you done the puzzle multiple times before or was that your first try? What puzzle was it - title and brand? That is just amazing Joe!! 41 Minutes!! 💜🧩

@@fortheloveofpuzzles I just removed the plastic and opened the box and started as new, I never do a puzzle twice, immediately afterward I resell it online. In my long career, I will have done at least five thousand puzzles, at the moment I have one to do on Escher's relativity in black and white. In the last two and a half years I have done so many. I started doing small puzzles and as I felt more confident I proceeded with the next category with larger numbers of pieces and so on. Now I'm also making some colored diamond paintings that I finished in one day, 40 by 40 centimeters. I loved puzzles very much and every friend of mine gave me one as a gift. Love Joe 🧡

Yeah, I've had a mixed experience with Bluebird. I've had one puzzle with top notch quality, like right up there with Art & Fable, Magnolia and Enjoy, lovely matte finish and super unique piece shapes. And then I've had puzzles like this or even worse, lose fit, very similar piece shapes. I don't mind buying them if I really enjoy the image though, usually the quality is just mediocre which is fine if the image is right. They do large piece count puzzles right, though! The piece sizes are smaller which makes the size of the finished puzzle smaller! I can fit a 6000 piece Bluebird puzzle on my table and I can normally only fit up to 4000 piece puzzles on my table :D

I wonder if Bluebird has their puzzles manufactured at various factories causing differences in quality??? I don’t mind smaller pieces especially on larger puzzles. I just cracked open my 5k Ravensburger and the pieces are smaller than the standard size. 💜🧩

Great puzzle, I did that myself as a 500 piece and loved it. I'm guessing your Magnolia puzzle is The Dissectologist. I believe there is a Masterpieces puzzle called The Puzzle Emporium but because it is American costs too much in postage to buy. There was a House of Puzzles one called Puzzling Paws which I did a couple of years ago. I've done quite a few Bluebird puzzles and found them to be good puzzles.

@@fortheloveofpuzzles I didn't have any problem with the Bluebird puzzles that I did. One new one had a couple of outside pieces missing. Not the first time I've had that. Companies seem to vary as to what they do when you inform them, replacement, refund, whatever their policy happens to be.

I bought a bunch of Bluebird Puzzles in a sale for 5 Euro each, all art motives. For that price, the quality is pretty good. I also had false fits on some of them, one took me forever to notice 😄. But it really depends on the motive if it's a problem or not. I definitely will buy more of their puzzles, as they're cheap, and IMO, the cut is still better than Ravensburger.

For 5 Euros, I'd definitely be buying them as well. But I understand why some brands cost a lot more here in New Zealand. I find it interesting that you prefer the BlueBird piece cut over Ravensburger. Knock on wood I've never had an issue with Ravensburger piece cuts but I also wonder if it depends from which factory the puzzle is manufactured. 💜🧩

@fortheloveofpuzzles Don't get me wrong, Ravensburger puzzles are of very good quality. I was just very disappointed with the lack of variety in prong shapes when I did a solid colour Krypt puzzle. So disappointed and frustrated in fact, I never finished the puzzle. I'm testing out a couple of brands now to see which ones meet my expectations, and I'm not touching a Ravensburger puzzle any time soon (except the older ones I have, maybe).

What an appropriate puzzle! I'd love to go to a shop like that in my dreams to buy every puzzle in it. I've never done a puzzle from this brand before but the pieces getting stuck if they aren't correct; reminds me of Buffalo Games puzzles where they're hard to get apart when completed. 🫣🤣

When I go to Canada in May, I want to go to Puzzles Canada as the store is suppose to be amazing just like the one in the image! There was a puzzle recently that I did but can’t remember the brand, after filming and I tried to take it apart and it was nearly impossible! So very frustrating! 💜🧩

I've never been to Canada despite it being on the bucket list. Maybe some day. I hope you enjoy looking at all of the puzzles in the store, as well as seeing friends and family in your home country in May! And of course HUGE good luck vibes to you for the competition! Dang those puzzle pieces for not coming apart -- so frustrating but also makes the pick up challenge easier lol. As a sidenote on the back of the box where they show the other puzzles offered; the last picture in the 1,000 piece category is in fact a Diamond Art Painting as well.
