One of my favorite tracks of his. I believe that one also has a line about a rain drop on a windshield in a seeming crash. That song is one of his most beautiful

just saw nearly all of backwoodz studio perform in brooklyn, their art is not limited to recordings. the performances they all put on enamored everyone, the tracks were enhanced and their meanings made more poignant by the energy they brought on stage

I loved what woods said about collaborating with ELUCID because that’s something I’ve picked up on through listening to both of their music. I love both of them individually, but I feel like elucid’s most potent and moving moments are in collaboration with another artist (woods and R.A.P. Ferreira specifically). He just knows exactly how to best compliment and contrast with other artists. Besides stonefruit, another favorite example of their chemistry is the flow between ELUCID’s closing verse on Ramses II to the Eucharist. People may say that woods is under appreciated, but I really think that ELUCID is someone that deserves more credit for his fantastic work

I know Skye doesn't really go backwards but Woods mentioning the Oblivion Access Fest made me notice the depressing lack of Lil Ugly Mane (AKA Bedwetter, plus like a million other AKAs) stuff from him and I think that's kind of a shame because I feel like there's honestly just so much more to him and his art than meets the eye.

I’m so glad Kenny mentioned the U-Create. I saw him open for milo years ago and was fascinated by the weird little kids toy with a glowing orb that he was using, and after the show I chatted with him for a bit and asked about it. I ended up ordering one that night and have used it in recordings/live setups ever since

Hey professor! Gonna do the classic comment and recommend you an album that just came out, this one is by McKinley Dixon called “Beloved! Paradise! Jazz!?” It’s a great piece of rap with (shockingly) a bit of jazz fused with it. I think you’d especially enjoy it/ get a good video out of it if you talk about it in the context of Toni Morrison’s writing as she was a big influence on the album. (The title itself is a reference to three of her books). Interesting tidbit is that McKinley Dixon and Lucy Dacus are close friends!
