CORRECTION: The USP Printstream Trade Up is actually MUCH BETTER than I show here! I made a math error, and it turns out that you can use an average float of 0.0823. You can use 9 MW Sawed Off Kiss Loves with one Factory New filler with a float of 0.04. Sorry about this brain fart HAHA! And you can hit bad side of variation, you can miss 10 ice coaled trade ups in a row. Its a waste of time. If there was free money everyone would be doing it. Let me do quick maths, assuming that float distribution is equal between 0,07 - 0,15 that would mean that our chance of getting good float to use in trade up is 3/8. We need 10 items to complete trade up so we need to buy around 27 items. We have 2/5 chances to get desire output for next trade up. If we need 27 skins to have 2/5 of skin that means to get 8 skins we need to set 540 buy orders to just make one trade up for Ice Coaled. This trade up on the other hand have 33% chance to get our desired input. So if 540 skins is enough to get 1/3 of skin, to get 9 of those we need astonishing 14 560 buy orders. Yeah Good Luck everybody

On an average day 5000 min wear skins from the recoil case are sold lets say half of these are to buy orders and a third of those skin are below a .1 float you woukd have around 800 skins which you could trade up with a decent amount i guess this means every 10 days you would be able to do around 800 trade you would buy 2500 skins at .12 a day so you would need 300 steam balance but the biggest problem is that it takes 3 to 4 days if half the sales are via buy orders to be the first buy order at .12 to get filled if you inv gets above a thousand items the buy order cancels so you would need to list skins 3 to 4 times a day or use storage units that often to not lose buy order priority its a nice idea but for the volume sold a day this strat is def not worth all the time it would take keep that in mind before you try this strat

@@TechsavvyScientist def true something intresting to touch on in a vid would be the fact that for most profitable trade ups like the emporer one the sell price on buff for the items with good float is higher then the EV of the trade up per item so if you want to gamble and make a bit of profit you can do tradeups but if you wanne make most its best to sell the good float skins on buff for the most profit

If I just put steam balance on my account, how much can I really save with this trade up in the end, given that in my country a printsteam FN costs around €121. I know it will depend on my luck, but to get to printstream I will have to do a lot of trade ups, so I will still spend some money on buy orders, my real question is in the end I will save what €20, €40 €, how much?

Now use Buff-prices and you have to overpay for those floats = Loss of ~ 20% with each tradeup for the Printstream. Also what´s the point of doing trade-ups for sniped low-float-skins that can sell for a much higher price? Sorry but this whole video is just a big misinformation.

I liked the video and the openings were crazy. But you can't fool people considering the average cost of "Keep skins" as you calculated on the video (like $0.635 for Recoil outcomes). If you receive one of those and put them on another trade, you are actually OVERPAYING them for the good floats. So you have to consider this overpay to calculate your profit. In the first case, the only profitable outcome would be the AK Ice coaled. If you really believe that is correct, then I guess you have to review your math bro... Don't get me wrong. I liked the idea and the content was interesting. But be careful of what you teach people, because most could lose a lot on this.

@@TechsavvyScientist Let's take the Flora Carnivora as an example. It costs $1.11 and you paid $1.3 for your trade. 1.3 - 1.1 = 0.19 of Loss, but let's forget about it from now. Just consider you are paying $1.3 for each Flora, which is the price of your first tradeup. If you use 10 Flora Carnivoras for your next trade, it would be 13$ on total. All outputs from your second trade costs less than you paid for (less than 13$), with the exception of the AK Ice Coaled, which costs $22.7. 4:08 is the prove. So you are not paying $0.65 for each Flora. You are actually overpaying $0.19 for each one of them, making your tradeup not profitable at all and leaving you with a chance of 26.67% of chance for profiting each time. Let's consider now the USPs Flashback (the tradeup from your video). 8 x $1.3 = $10.4 + 2 x $1.61= $3.22 = $13.62 on total for the tradeup. So that's even worse than using 10 Floras from your last tradeups. All the prices I listed are from your video.
@croakzy
@croakzy 4 ай бұрын
The idea of using the Floras on your next tradeup is a good way of getting good floats with no much effort, but is financially risky. You are basically risking more money than it actually costs for a 33% chance of profiting.
@TechsavvyScientist
@TechsavvyScientist 4 ай бұрын
so you are right, but only if you only get the bad outcomes. the main idea here that you seem to have missed is that the first trade up (mil spec -> restricted) either gives you an item you can use, or a profit item. the profit items offset the loss outcomes. yeah you can say that the floras cost $1.3, but then you have to consider the profit outcomes from the mil spec trade up in the end. theres nothing wrong with your math but it misses a big part of the trade up, and essentially assumes you can only get 'keep' outcomes if you approach if from a different point of view, doing 5 mil spec to restricted trade ups and get exactly one of each (which is statistically what will happen in the long run, at least in terms of ratios) you arrive at my 'answer'. if you keep the r8 and dualies, your balance will be $1.3 lower than what you started with. so it cost you $1.3 to get the dualies and the r8, hence $0.65 each. moral of the story: you have to consider ALL outcomes of a trade up when doing profitability calculations
@croakzy
@croakzy 4 ай бұрын
@@TechsavvyScientist Again... I'm not judging your methods bro. I'm actually going to try one of these myself lol What I am saying is it is not $0.65 each. You spend $1.3$ to make one Flora, if you use two: 2x1.3 = $2.6! If you use ten: 10x$1.3 = $13

It really bothers me that you make a video saying that these contracts are profitable, when in fact they are not. I guess that's how you gain visits, making these types of videos and putting those titles that don't reflect reality. I understand that this type of content loses veracity over a few weeks with the change in market prices, but it is the last straw if you release an obsolete video. Maybe you did it a few weeks ago and you just published it now, but if that were the case, you would have to have checked the market price to know if your video is still valid at the time of publishing it. After watching your video, for someone who doesn't know about contracts, they will try to make contracts because maybe they think that what you are sharing is reliable information, but it is not. The only profitable contract is the last one, but it is the least accessible and also the best known. The rest of the contracts are not profitable. The first one you don't get any profit, you simply recover the contract (if you win), in the second you only win with the AK-47 Ice Cold, the rest is a loss. When you keep sawed-off shotguns you say that the weapons are "free" when in reality you are multiplying losses which is much worse than selling them at a higher price due to their good wear, it is basic probability. It's hard for me to understand that if you "dedicate yourself" to making this type of content you don't understand these concepts, I also don't understand how you don't know that the prices on the page you use for contracts have outdated prices for weapons, in addition to be inferior. The true price to buy weapons is the Steam market page, it is the only one that has prices updated in real time, when searching for them you immediately realize that these contracts are not profitable and turn out to be a mere fantasy. I take the time to write you my opinion so that you understand how someone on the other side who also knows this type of "business" sees it. I know that making videos for KZfaq is purely a personal thing and all the work comes from you, I hope these words help to improve your content.

I appreciate the feedback, however I find it really peculiar that in such a long response directly addressing the profitability of the trade ups in my video there are ZERO calculations. You also mentioned that the prices are outdated, and while I haven’t had time to check them myself right now, I did the Trade Ups on Saturday, and posted the video today (Monday). Yes, skins are volatile, but from experience I can say that most prices are probably still accurate. If not, that might be because 2000 people have watched the video and many are probably trying to do it, pushing prices up. I would love to see your calculations that you based your conclusion off. I don’t want to put out inaccurate information, so please, I would like to see what you did to determine that these trade ups are unprofitable. Thanks
