I'm an electrician in a field where capacitance, induction, power factor calcs aren't a large part of my daily work. Its a lightbulb moment to have them explained in such a clear way. Thanks

@almendronman, shut the f up. While MAD Prof channel is doing an amazing job of visualising these concepts. These were all developed and used by millions of ppl for more than a century. Humans are curios, have the capability to read books think and visualise it mentally and build systems. Don’t blame the education system if you are too fucking lazy to put the effort to read books and assimilate it. These are taught to every physics major / electrical / electronics engineer and there are amazing books. Read Basic Electronics by B Grob, Lectures in physics by RP Feynman or Electronics Devices by Boylsted and Neshlsky.

As far as I know, single phase motor, use a capacitor for starting, then when the motor running, does the same capacitor shift its function and serve as a power factor corrector ? thank you.

It's not correct to state that the released energy does not go through the load. It is simply released back into the circuit and will go where ever the circuit configuration will channel it. That's important precisely, because the load will "feel" it.

The educational systems all over the world have never been outdated in terms of content or teacher ability. The issue is that the classes contain average students and outliers that slow down the teaching or are slowed down by the teaching. The teaching outcome is to move the CLASS ahead in a way that accommodates every learner.
