I love this about skateboarding. just like a hitter's swing in baseball - we obsess over the efficiency and the look of the thing. balancing power and personality in the movement. so cool.

I like the direction of this channel. I think it's really awesome how John just sends a video challenge to his buddies and they just make it work. The only thing I think is missing is an introduction to who everyone is. I know John is putting their @'s when they first appear, but that doesn't really help us learn their names, or who they are. It would be cool to see some videos in the future of the individuals working on a trick they really love and talking to the camera a bit so the audience gets a feeling for who each person is.

This helped me somehow bc I’m in the process of learning kickflips

A good tip I learned is that the further in and lower you put your foot on the board the higher you can pop it. I noticed this when watching jake hayes do kickflips his front foot is almost in heelflip position sometimes.

The variation in body position during setup is interesting to me. I have to be positioned in a specific way or I get crazy board rotation.

This is pretty cool, I feel like heelflips would be more interesting, my front foot is in the same position for kickflips as heelflips for example. Don't know how it works but it does.

It's not just the stance that I like to see differences on, but also how they kick. Some people do more of a ninja kick kinda forward motion, whereas I tend to do more of a ankle "roll" you could say...more like how I do my varial kickflips or a 360 flip.

i flick nollie heels with my toe and i set up my feet like a nollie flip. it works i dunno why, skating is all about millimeters and we're all built differently

I feel like I never see anyone’s foot position how I do them for my back foot I have it kinda in the pocket rather than on the center of the tail

what width boards do you all ride? They all look pretty wide so I assume 8.5 at least? Is anyone riding a board wider than 8.5?

Always tried to get my Kickflips like the dude in Lakai shoes. But i dunno, depends what you're skating. I want a slower kickflip going off something so i'll pop nearer the heel side pocket, if i'm going up something i'll pop in the toe side pocket so it snaps up quicker. Or at least when I could actually skate thats what i'd do.Now i'd be happy if I spun the board around haha
