Dear Mr Lee Hsien Yang.I fully agree to your speech on our National Service obligation. I belong to Merdeka Generation & service my national service with LHL at 20 SA ( Kambing Camp 1976) we went through very tough life but receive $100/- passion card TOP up & $200/- Medisave which in my opinion NOT befitting our sufferings in Nation Building..now age 63 is very difficult to secure employment.. I think Mr Lee Hsien Yang and his sister are trying hard to instill in the older sibling that the old Mr Lee truly loved Singapore and where we are headed today needs a real wake up call . Born and told I am just a minority and not a degree holder can only go to jobs where HR is not a Chinese limited my chances to excel but nevertheless now the local Chinese themselves are facing the same with foreigners so spare a thought what was the circumstances of the other races. The old Singapore I love is changing so fast but more importantly the standard and value system of people are fast eroding

You are right! We served 2.5 years of NS during my time and paid peanuts. What privilege do we enjoy as a citizen compared to the new Citizen where sacrifice so much!
