Rugal is cheap, but also relatively fair at the same time. You get three life bars while he only gets two, and his first life bar is a relatively "freebie" form that is less aggressive and doesn't use specials. Once you can take out his first form without losing your first character, you go into the second form with a *significant* life advantage, and you can eventually win the war of attrition as long as you deal more damage per round than he gets to heal.

@@BainesMkII Yeah the first phase is meant to be easier and nerfed. I believe it was even SNK that innovated on that kind of idea of boss presentation. It started in Samurai Shodown from 93, but in KOF 94 it was improved with a bigger constrast between the two phases and an added cutscene.

Yeah, because even SF2 charge chars cheated. And SNK in the early-mid 90s was very competitive trying to outdo Capcom in whatever they did, including cheating cpu. So they made superior cheating cpu.

Well, to be fair, Guile was doing it way earlier. I remember discovering the commands for his sonic boom and somersault as a kid and thinking pretty much the same thing.

Es popular en todo el mundo, no por nada sigue la franquicia viva, la lógica ahí te va, magical drop iii de neogeo que era una mini franquicia qué ahí la llevaba a intentado sobrevivir y apenas salió su nuevo juego pero se ve su bajón de calidad pues no son los devs de antes, a snk no le interesa ¿porque? No genera mucho dinero y aunque fuese jugado en cierta parte del planeta no es suficiente ¿comprendes?

¿Cuáles son los KOF más populares en Argentina? ¿Y hay otros juegos de arcade que hayan destacado allí y no sean tan populares en otros países? Aquí en Brasil, por ejemplo, tenemos KoF 97, Cadillacs & Dinosaurs y Cruis'n USA.

The worst part was that Rugal got Taunt as well but it was incredibly quick AND he reduce your meter if you let that taunt happened.

The thing is that 94 Rebout is too much a "product of its time". To begin with, it was meant for the 10th anniversary, in a time of a huge appeal around the 3d style stages of MvC2 (that SNK also copied in other 00s games), and in a time that emulation didnt have the tech that exists now. Like, graphic filters in early 00s emulators were simpler. I believe the current Fightcade/Final Burn's graphic filters might get the same or an even better effect than KoF 94 Rebout's image quality. There was a plan to continue to make hd remakes of the classic games after 94 Rebout, but they were cancelled. It must have been because SNK realized the project's concept is kind of obsolete, since it's common to find in any emulator in the mid-late 00s those graphic filters. Also the MvC2 3d stages was a trend that kinda cooled down since the 00s, hence the KOF UM games returning to 2d stages and only leaving few 3d elements (less than CvS2 stages). Actually nowadays even a serious Mugen project can deliver as much as a remake like 94 Rebout.

@@Jyxero that doesn't count as an HD Remake, also it was originally a ps2 era game, which is very old, plus this would also means more custom special power bars similar to how SFA3 did with the saikyo and mazi style that were later introduced in the dreamcast and ps1/psp/ps2 version if i remember correctly so.

​@@deathscythe9158 Goenitz is certainly tougher than Rugal in XV but he's really easy to cheese with fireballs. Knock him down, and then throw a fireball. He'll get hit. Throw another one, and he'll jump over it. Hit him with an anti-air, and repeat the process. Works with Iori, Ryo, Robert, Terry, Andy, and almost everyone except Orochi Chris.

@@deathscythe9158 Somewhat, you could also cheese the AI in previous games. KOF '98 Omega Rugal always walks towards you and eats DPs as long as you stand still even in the highest levels of difficulty. Without cheesing it, Goenitz is tough, trust me. He reads inputs like a motherfucker, can use SDMs with half a bar of meter, and he has an unblockable "vacuum" SDM that only costs one bar.
