OMG! My father had one of those LTD wagons when I was a kid! Nostalgia on that one. If memory serves correctly, my father ended up having to get rid of it after some jerkoffs putting sugar in the gas tank of every car on the street. That was 1980-something...

Supply and demand is a legit system. Maybe wagons are making a comeback among smart people like us . Apparently there are folks out there that have their own concept of how the system works. A few reasonable ( to me ) prices here . Then again, I have visions . Ha !

Nice collection of wagons. You done good. As a opinion, I think pretty much anything under $15k that needs only minor investments to make it reliably road-worthy and reasonably aesthetic is a pretty good deal - have you seen the price of new cars lately? It’s a big plus if it doesn’t have a display screen or more than two (12v or less) batteries. That said, I’d feel better about paying $18k for the ’57 Chevy if the owner had used the words “rat rod” in the ad. I really like the Studebaker, but yeah, it's a bit pricey. At least it's not a rat rod. Sorry to disagree, but in my book the Volaré is a big hell no! The fact that it’s a 1972 car with 65k miles means there's lots of deferred maintenance. Water in the brake fluid; varnish in the fuel lines, old rubber and seals waiting to crack, dried out grease, etc. It would probably take another $6K to bring it up to speed, and then you'd have a $12k green Volaré with a green interior and fake wood paneling. And they don’t have the best reputation for build quality and rust. It looks clean, but… As for the Squareback: I love air-cooled VWs, particularly Squarebacks, but IMHO there are no air-cooled VW autosticks worth $2k, let alone $9k. However, it would be nice as a gasser. The ’65 Coronet is cool. The yellow and brown Ford isn't. Pretty much anything yellow and brown isn't. I agree with your assessment of the sedan delivery body style. I also approve of a decent hearse, like the one from “Six Feet Under.”

Hate to throw hurt into the mix.1985 my buddy had a solid,from way south,1972 Monte Carlo with a 454.All original.Some paint faded,interior needed front seat covered on driver's.I didn't have the $1200 cash.2 weeks later he found a 2' tree couldn't be broken with it's grill at 50+mph.He was ok.Car wasn't

I hear you say " I haven't seen one of these in a while" meaning rare. But in the car market rare means two thing short production or rare options or rare because it wasn't really beloved. The not beloved ones are usually priced at that high price because the owner thinks he has something and wants what he paid or put into it because it was an act of love for him. To bad for him love can sometimes hurt. 😅

Could you please give us a just a little bit more time to read all the description they send with the vehicle, I've never been able to read the whole thing without having to back it up and pause it. they give a lot of info if we just had time to read it. And maybe give the price more than once at the beginning of the video, maybe at the end of the video give the price one more time would be great. By the time I watch the entire video my little pea-brain has forgot the price from the beginning, lol. you do a great job though, your hard work is evident, but just give us "Jethro" types a little longer to read the descriptions, lol.

I hate to say it but that Volkswagen with that motor in it is around the going price for those cars. I had one and they’re a great car except for the fuel injection system is absolute trash so to get one in that kind of shape with the motor fixed and beefed up most of the troubles are already gone so making it your own is easy. To say anything is easy with a classic Volkswagen is almost impossible but here we are

I’m 52 now but my first car in the 80s was a 67 bug the worst year to buy cause it’s a one year only, my next one was a 59 a beautiful car never got to drive it, sold it right before the motor went in the next one was a 72 that was built out of Bondo but I was going to do a bunch of performance upgrades to it until I realized I could buy a 5 L mustang for 1/2 the price it would take to make a Volkswagen catch a 5L and then I could put that rest of the money into the Mustang and no Volkswagen would ever see anything but my tail lights. I would also have a heater and I would be comfortable and 1000 other reasons to stay the fk away from Volkswagens (air cooled) the station waggon I had like this one still had the fuel injection and it was a goddamn nightmare. I’ve been into cars my entire life and I cannot say enough bad things about those things, as soon as you get them to any sort of a fun power level you’re rebuilding that motor once a month and just look into the prices performance parts cost for that little air cooled motor. Don’t get me started on breaking the block in half in order to rebuild the damn thing. Do you really want to go to Wagin golf is an amazing little beast you can pick up at 99 for not that much it’s got a non-interference motor so if you break a timing belt you don’t break ahead you can boost that little motor you can Nature Sound little motor you can go back earlier and get a rabbit and they are just as fun a lot more expensive though but stay away from a beetle or in the air cooled nightmare ever made by Volkswagen if you’ve got any performance upgrades in mind whatsoever or heat or personal comfort. By the way losing your virginity in the backseat of one is a very painful experience ask me how I know🥲🤣🤣

Plymouth I’d buy, maybe a couple of gees less. The white Ford I’d take but again at a lower price. I like the LTD but it’s way over. Id rather have the earlier model and make a Family Truckster. The 57 I dig, but it’s a $10k car. The 56 is the ugly duckling in the tri to me, I’d probably skip it. I’d take the 55 at $2500, I really love a nomad wagon, it could be a bit of a gasser style too with some old fuel station graphics on it, race on Sunday work on Monday feel. The Plymouth is ugly and boring but boring ugly girls need loving too. Throw it on bags, maybe a cam and some pipes and I’d cruise the country in it with the family. I’d snap the Buick up, I love it. It reminds me of the Chev Impala a little bit and I like them a lot. I’ll take the 54 as well, sedan deliveries are cool as. I love the Stude, but I mean it’s a $15k car.

@@MOTORHEADMISFITS-zk9su they’re rare in Aus. When I was about 14 I knew a guy who owned a 74 Buick Riviera with a 455 V8. I became good mates with him and helped him out with his DJ business. He was a Vietnam Vet and had his call sign, Capricorn Dancer as a sticker on the back of the car. He let me take it one afternoon and drive around to my mates place, so I could impress his sister and her girlfriends. I felt like an absolutely playa driving a big American V8 around before I even had a licence. I lost track of the car for years but it showed up a while ago for sale, but I couldn’t shift stuff quickly enough to get the money for it. I would love to own that beautiful old girl.

The main purpose of older vehicles was to well drive on vacation for most of your needs and well in truth the age of people going to other places to explore isn't as important as it once was. You use to travel across your country like America to look at all the sites but lets be honest driving 2000 miles to see 600 giant concrete statues on your way of items that are well what you have in your home like a milk jug yea its not appealing at all. Oh cool a 50 foot tall chicken oh a 50 foot tall roaster oh a 50 foot tall dog. You are not allowed to touch any of them but they are there. Hell when you think about it most vehicles don't have a real purpose anymore. Sure they are cool items of their time but their purpose was to travel across the country looking at stuff or being chopped up and screwed up in different ways and raced or thrown into crashing test rings which are seriously illegal now and no one even does them because its too expensive and the cars look ugly when you do that to them. They are slowly rotting away and dying off. Hell sure they look cool but the prices are way too much and parts are dwindling because the parts have not been made for 50 years. They were once a descent item for their time but you have to accept their time is long past gone and they are incredibly useless except to show off as a pavement princess look at how I did to try and keep it to its original state lawn ornament.

The only things I have replaced to my 1973 Schwinn Beach Cruiser Special Edition Deluxe Edition with original extra special license plate and original special deluxe back baskets is well the tires and tubes but I have 1 of the original tubes and both original tires. I do however need to replace the plastic pedal parts because they dry rotted and fell off so they still have the metal pedals but the heavy duty hardened rubber that was used to spin on the pedals did fall off but its still functional without them. I also have a Dr. Pepper Cherry Promotional Bike. I also have a 1986 or 1987 Beatnik one speed. I also have a bike for regular use that I use as a work horse bike. So yea I understand the idea of collecting bikes even though technically they are kind of useless and I stopped riding my collectable bikes when 2 guys on bikes tried to bike jack me and I had to escape. So I do understand the love for the old stuff even though they are useless for their original purposes. I have a gas powered bike so the only few bikes I want to complete my collection is I would eventually like an adult big wheel bike basically a big wheel but made for adults, a big wheel little wheel bike, a purple bike, and a Magna bike because my fist bike every that I taught myself to ride was a Magna bike.

Way too high on that squareback. I had a new one in 1970. It also was an automatic. Dangerously underpowered even 54 years ago, and not very well built.

He did a pretty good job on the powerplant/interior swap; I only wish he wouldn't have gone gonzo with all the holes.If the body was closer to stock-looking, it would be killer!

@@MOTORHEADMISFITS-zk9su my brother in law's dad has a 77 volare 2 door sedan that he's owned since new and it has never let him down. I think I had bad luck with mine. It was the only 225 I've ever seen break, it decided one day that the block didn't have enough holes. Lol
