I'm sharing my pens and inks for Week 3 of #31inks31pens31letters - I'm talking about each ink and pen pairing, what I did to change to make the ink pull more exciting, and my overall thoughts on this past week. I'm also looking at the pens I haven't used so far which clearly shows that I prefer cartridge/converter fountain pens.

Loving this video series and completely agree with you on preferring cartridge converters over my piston fillers, so much so that I bought a Lamy gold nib on a jinhao 80 to fill that “2000” hole in my collection. And made the difficult decision to only invest in 743 pilots instead of the 823.

I definetly want to try the 743 on the Dutch Penshow. The pen intriguis me so much. But I don‘t know what colorway to pick.

It only has black and burgundy I believe.

I am finding out that ink Visibility is starting to become more important than matching pens to ink. Brandy snap is not very visible in fine nibs for me, so it may be going in the (only using for artwork pile.) It’s so silly for me to write with a pen that I have to struggle to see the ink. Also like you finding out that just because you pay $500 for a pen doesn’t mean that it’s going to write better than a LAMY with a gold nib!

Yes. I agree - I did write with my Scribo today and it was brilliant. I might have talked it down so much in my head. LOL.

I totally just 'swapped' my 823 for a 743 in Verdigris and veryyyy happy with that decision. The 823 cleaning got me as well.. a no go. Love these videos - just feels like we're hanging out and talking about pens & inks.
