Been using Cataclean for 15 years it's brilliant at cleaning out injectors without removing them and improving MPG on high mileage cars. I'm not sure I'd rely on it to clean EGRs DPFs or Catalytic converters. I'd strip them off to clean anyway. I think the problem that you encountered is likely an unfortunate coincidence.

Yogi, I hate to tell you but the CataClean was not your issue. Your issue is the badge on the front of the car. I have worked on German cars for 20+ years, I can tell you any one of them made after 2004 is a POS. Too many plastic parts, poor engineering, and pre-designed obsolesce. Save yourself from the mistakes I made and buy a Lexus\Toyota or Acura\Honda. Also, that bottle says 1/4 tank not an 1/8th, concentration matters.

I'm finding also that some engines locate pumps, filters, fuses & relays are in different places. I liked your thoughts of other worn parts to consider during repairs. Maybe your kind of driving helped expose those problems. I'm changing my oil every 3,000 miles no matter what the previous owner did.

You need to buy oils that are specially mentioned in the service book!!! there is a code in there and it tells you. Now it doesn't mater what brand as long as it has the appropriate viscosity and the correct type and code , I prefer for example to choose a good company but that's your choice the only thing that matters is the correct code and viscosity, type etc . don't just put some random cheap oil .

Cataclean is a fluid. It cannot possibly cause the faults you had! We use Cataclean in ALL our vehicles. It is endorsed and recommended by the British Royal Automobile Club for goodness sake. No way would they do that If it was not a good product. Because Cataclean is a liquid, it cannot improve a broken part. If the Cat is too far gone, it cannot rebuild it. Cataclean used regular ensures the Cat doesn't clog or melt. Apart from that Audi is a lovely car!

Man I love this video! I personally own a b7 A4 2.0 and it’s around 230k miles now. I tried mentally preparing myself when buying a 100k+ mile audi that I was gonna do all the work myself. There were so many nights I spent pissed throwing wrenches and yelling at it for being dumb. I was ready to give up and sell it for parts when a friend of mine reminded me why we do it. I didn’t buy it to have an easy project. I didn’t buy it thinking about it’s reliability. I bought it out of a love I have for the brand and out of love for the challenge it provides. Ya it sucks that the K frame covers up the bell housing bolts. Or how the plastic interior buttons wear down fast. Or how one of the cup holders is covered up by the arm rest. But every time I fix that car it’s is the most satisfying feeling I’ve ever had of any of the cars I work on. Sure it’s a struggle and a money pit but I find the experience I get from it to be the real reward. Hang in there!

Love your story and video. I like Audi a lot, from the design, style, performance and best of all... beautiful acent interior lights when driving at night. To me it's just a dream car only, because I couldn't afford when it seats in dealership for service! (Unless I'm a millionaire). I drive a Honda and my wife drive a Toyota, don't make me wrong, we still have some mechanical problems but at least it's not offen and also it's affordable when bring it to the repair shop! FYI, Audi A7 RS in white is my favorite car 🙂

Cataclean is great stuff. That would never do that.

To change your catalytic converters most of the time you need to change the parts the work with it the rear oil switch is one them as the 02sensors the method only work a on oldest vehicle don’t have as many components…

I think you got it all wrong, the two issues are unrelated. The 2.0T are known to have bad oil pump balance shafts shit the bed at hight Milage and you happen to ad this stuff when the oil pump was already on its way out.

WTFF, cataclean didn't cost those type of problems on your vehicle.

you should try changing the light bulb :)) you need to take the bumper off :)) that is a bad model it looks nice but it's not made well I had 2 Audi A2 those were slightly better made, good engines and gearbox), 1 Audi A3 2005, 1 Audi A4 2009 automatic transmission, 1 Skoda Fabia 2010 and 1 Seat Ibiza 2006 and absolutely all had some electrical or sensor issue they aren't that reliable you need to really really pick a good one with low mileage but again they are too sensitive, fragile ....

A different issue but for everyone saying Cataclean is safe to use - at your own risk! Added it last night in hopes of at the very least getting my Kia Sedona, which has had a 420 code and CEL on, to go enough miles to pass inspection until I can get the cat replaced. It hasn't had any cat failure symptoms and this worked last year. Well, one mile after adding this crap, engine light started flashing, throwing P0300 random cyl misfire code, hesitating, struggling. I used it as directed and had used it a year before with no issues. Damn if he's not right, the vehicle does not like this garbage. I got to the nearest gas station and filled the tank to dilute it at least. After that, engine light remained steady on and performance improved enough to get home. Never again. Go online and research specifically what and how Cataclean can damage on your vehicle. There are extensive articles. For some people, maybe it's an option. But after what happened just last night, I'm warning you all. You might cause even worse problems. Now, it's New Year's weekend and I have to wait until Monday to make an appointment, get the cat replaced and pray there's no other damage to the system. Avoid this crap like the plague.

fuel has nothing to do with the oil pump. next youll be saying i got a flat tire after putting this liquid in my fuel and thats what caused it.

Dumb video. Your supposed to put more gas in after the Cataclean. It's mainly for cleaning the catalytic converter. P0420 code.

If you make $250K and over a year you can buy Audi, BMW or Mercedes. If you make less than $250K a year and you buy one of those you can only blame yourself!
