When 17-year-old Claire Crawford went into sudden cardiac arrest during a high school volleyball game, she was fortunate to have trained teachers and staff there to save her life.
As Claire's family learned more about her previously undiagnosed heart condition, they also learned the incident occurred in the best case scenario. She needed to go into V-fib in a place where people could quickly respond and have access to a working AED, and where she would be surrounded by people who were prepared to access vital signs and start CPR.

There definitely seems to be some medical negligence involved in the development of this situation. Claire had been having symptoms for months. They were a group of symptoms that can present in a person who is experiencing myocardial ischemia (inadequate supply of oxygenated blood to the heart muscles). She even told her doctor that she thought there might be a problem with her heart. But her doctor refused to order any tests for heart condition/heart function. Instead, he referred her for physical therapy.

There was a young girl who died in our horse barn. She was in a riding class, just sitting on her horse, waiting to jump and she slumped over and off her horse. She had an undiagnosed heart problem.

Parents should inspect gym facilities before activities for AEDs and cancel or delay an activity if one is not present. Students play at a very high level of performance and every step should be taken to ensure their safety.

@@robertyoung3992 "Not ONE", but three of them were clogged (plaque)! I have read a few followup stories on this girl. She is going to have an interesting life ahead of her. Robert, I also have read where "several" teenagers already have had attacks due to plaqued arteries! One was 13, almost 14 and probably doesn't weight 80lbs.! This is totally unbelievable to me! But it's happening! The "human body" is totally interesting period! The reason I am reading articles like this is I have a BIL who at age 40 almost left this World. He was at work when his happened, long story. My BIL only had one blocked artery, app 90%, that triggered his attack. They checked him thoroughly, and this one artery right at the heart was blocked! Nobody can figure out how, why, or what started this blockage so close to his heart, and does NOT show any other Plaque anywhere in his body. His annual checkups don't show anything else in progress! This happened about 6 years ago. Very Interesting.

Can't help thinking this is some fake news infomercial, they talk about everything except what caused her heart attack. No idea if she is doing well because they don't give any details. in other vids sounds like she was having pain from her heart for months, they say all that, but don't say why or what treatment she had. So sounds a little suspicious no? You would think they would follow up a bit.
