It’s as the air is changing pressure and conditioning itself and producing condensation from the outside humidity, best way to control that is an air dryer and oil remover in the air line and have your compressor in the shop and not getting to hot

You have water in your compressor that need to be drained also you need a water separator coming off your compressor. The orange peel comes from too high of air pressure to the gun

Get u a “pumpkin” filter for your gun and high pressure is not bad so long as ur up close and move fast

Regarding the moisture. Your air is humid and comes from the compressor. You can build a dryer with copper piping and use that in combination with drying beeds. You can make that dryer out of a GE reverse osmosis filter canister and some pvc pipe. You can find out how to make both of those on KZfaq. If you have those tow systems your air should be dry. 1 more thing, You should spray your clear through the gun. Get House of Kolor show clear and shoot it from the gun, you’ll get a better finish.

theres the water trap that u install by the air compressor at the beginning of the hose. it looks like a glass bottle w a water release knob

Awesome job! I have a set of these I bought a few months back. I’m having trouble finding the replacement decals for the RX 2001, RXDI 2002. Thinking about just doing custom decals…any thoughts 💭 ty

hey just wondering how has the paint held up especially in salt water did u have to polish it or add anymore clear? also why not gel coat for the clear isnt that what you should use for boats?

I have since sold the ski's, but the paint was very durable. The key is it's above the water line. If I were to repaint the hulls, 100% it would be gel. I also didn't keep them around saltwater, i'm based in GA, so I can't really speak to the longevity around the salt. I did go heavy with a few extra coats of clear to try and build up the protective layer.

Hello. I saw in your next video the paint didn't cure and had to be taken off. Do you know what you did that caused that happen? I'm trying to paint my waverunner and I was considering spraying the topboat wet edge, so I was curious if you knew what to avoid.

My best guess was the bottom coat didn't have enough time to fully cure before I put the clear on. I was incredibly disappointed; though, in the long run, they came out better than expected!

@@chrisbarnett4872 I did a little, but can't remember the ratio I used. The spray worked great, I didn't have an issue there, looked nice on the ski.. I think my biggest issue was patience lol.

Yea, no doubt.. I have learned SINCE this video to turn down the background track MUCH MUCH more than what was setup in this video.. Sorry for the distration.

Definitely not. I just polished the hulls as best as I could.. Only paint work I did was above the water line.

@@jeremyfoster2431 Yea, I really can't say one way or another to be honest. I mean, the clear coat was fantastic, but that's not to say it would hold up if painted and exposed to constant water thrashing. Worst case I suppose, if it wears off, just re-gel it.
