(www.rclesu.com/) For me, it was a no Brainer. Recreate an epic set of Radio Control Skid-Steer loaders. You see, several years ago I was forced into purchasing a new skid steer when I blew a head gasket and warped the head in my full size machine. I knew about the radio control technology of the time and wanted to see if I could convince Bobcat and CAT to come to my ranch to have a fun competition with their machines. Unfortunately, that never happened - but I did still purchase a CAT skid steer that was Radio Controlled! Looks like I will have that competition after all :) These models are the LESU Brand, and are made in China. They are full metal kits and they offer each one of these to stores and distributors. On rare occasion they will sell to the public. Best bet is to hit up their facebook and mention this series if you are interested in purchasing from them. / lesurcchina . Personally I have always had good luck with Lesu.. although they have had some growing pains.

Excellent choice of colors for each. Bobcat tracked white is classic. Cat yellow..perfect. can't belive the detail of these. I watched a coworker work on a tracked fullsize Bobcat...what a nightmare of chains inside a box inside the unit.

My dad was drafted to Vietnam in 1970. He operated heavy machinery there. Owns his own heavy equipment business today. This would be a perfect gift for a guy like my dad.

FANTASTIC video, Medic! I'm anxiously watching this project. Some folk sin our RC club have talked about possibly acquiring one of them tracked bobcats, but we're fearful of tracks on a vehicle this small. We're anxiously watching to see how well them tracks function, & if they hold up to the test of time!

I agree about the concern with the tracks. They might slip under torque. I will put it to the test for you guys.. and try to give you a decent answer :) They seem to be nice and tight for the moment..but I dont think they are belted

Can’t wait to see these put together! Personal opinion, I prefer the tracked skid. I run both the tracked and wheeled skids at work and far prefer the tracked skid. They ride smoother and have better traction. Unless, of course, you’re on snow. Tracks turn into ice skates really quick.

Both are great machines in the real world. I work in the construction industry and use both a cat wheeled skid steer and a bobcat tracked machine. The cats controls are more user friendly in my opinion as they are just two joy sticks. But the tracked bobcat leaves a smaller footprint when turning around. But the controls for the bucket are by your feet and the forward backward and turning is done by your hands. Great build my friend and looking forward to the next episode. Cheers!

It's pretty cool watching two builds at the same time, even if the biggest difference is that one has wheels and the other has tracks.

Ive driven both types of machines, a tracked cat and a wheeled bobcat. Both are great but depending on the road type one is better then the other. After being diagnosed with psa the wheeled bobcat was my enemy since it was very difficult to get in and out of especially since it was a non-enclosed unit we enclosed for our needs. Afrer getting the cat with tracks it was a blessing and a curse. Blessing because it was easier to get in and out of and was enclosed with both heat and ac, a curse because the tracks would last a month before needing to be changed. In either case they were both fun to drive but not when your incapacitated due to health reason. Also im glad to see your health condition has improved, slowly but surely im on the same path in the right direction.

Having driven both I would prefer the track full-size models they seem to drive a little bit easier than the old conventional four wheel Love the channel been a faithful follower for many years just wish I had the time and money to be right there with you Buddy. Having operated both, wheels all the way. Tracks will beat you to death on anything but smooth packed ground. Both of these look good like all the Lesu kits, I just hope they don't suffer some weird problem like all the other ones seem to have had.

Looking great. The track plates on the Bobcat need to be black to offset all that white but as always looking amazing keep up the good work. Hope one day to be able to get back into the hobby. This year has just set me back so far but i'm keeping faith that i'll bounce back thx for all the inspiration and the motivation to keep pushing forward. They both look saweet!! I do like operating a tracked machine though, a lot less bouncing around and they don’t get stuck as often. And I wouldn’t buy either one of them. Not because they’re bad machines but because I had a bad experience with the sales people. Ended up going to JD.

The track skid steer looks more like a Takeuchi than a Bobcat. The window and profile definitely looks like Takeuchi. Would you be willing to change direction? Guess I like Takeuchi more. Anyway that’s for the video.

tracks, baby, tracks. Though that chian drive is pretty neat! I'm already getting thoughts of how to brapify one of these with a Toyan single. Just need a source for hydraulic motors to use for drive and a couple more valves to control them. Running the pump itself is NBD; pull the magnets out of the outrunner's bell and then use that as a pulley. Simple as. I'd run the engine to the pump and then run everything else on the machine hydraulically; p.sure that's how the real thing is set up anyway.
