@@dusscode They "fixed" it by dramatically lowering the amount of rays dispersed. Consumer cards are not ready to run ray traced anything at good fps.

You can just FEEL the Ironman influence. Not that it's a bad thing, they actually did a great job with the armor design. I especially thought that the spinal armor was well done.

Actually I think the things in this video is not rendered by our gpu......but it is rendered by the Nvidia creators....so we are just viewing it ....so these video is not produced by our gpu

I remember way back during GeForce fx series, and we were demonstrated with "life like" hair and facial features, we were all "bullshit, that cannot be done in real time!". Look at where we are now. This kind of graphics will be the standard in the future.

If a AAA game developer were willing to make a game only for RTX owners, we could get a game like this. But the egg comes before the chicken, so we will have hybrid for a time. It does take quite a bit of time to make a game, so starting now a lot of people will be able to run this when they are done.

It doesn't look realistic when it comes to faces and character models, but it looks fantastic in lightning, which is the whole point of ray-tracing. Can't wait for realistic VR games.

@@635574 This was a demonstration of graphical power, not artistic power. Technically, game producers can make a game ultra realistic, but that would require much bigger resolution and therefore would require a much more powerful GPU, much much more powerful. GPUs are holding back games, not the other way around.

The fact that this looks like scenes from movies that took days to render and it's running in real-time seamlessly on a PC you can have right now is simply amazing! Can't imagine in the few years the amount of realism we'll have! Keep it up!!

Idk, Im glad that rtx is going to be a thing for gaming now and the tech itself is defenitely part of how games are going to be renered in the future but it doesnt "WOW" me at all. Its still not photorealistic. Maybe raytracing is not enough to create photorealism but I have yet to experience the next big jump in visuals like the first crysis did in 2007. We might be still 15-20 years aways from actualy photorealism in games.

Guys this was being rendered by 4 10,000 dollar quadro cards at 30 fps. You will not see these graphics at good framerates in an accessible gpu for maybe 15 years.

Joshua, the problem is the number of rays. Each reflection level is another bunch of rays. They keep the reflection recursion to 2 or 3 levels. If you put a mirror in front of another and you stand in the middle, you could get 0.00001 fps :-)

Over 1 year on from impressive trailers like this, the Reflections storm trooper one, the Port Royal 3d mark demo, Lunar Landing, Atomic Heart, Justice... None of it's actual materialized yet. All we have is a bunch of games where you'd be hard pushed to tell the difference if you weren't really looking (BFV being the best of them IMHO, but it still doesn't hold a candle to these demos.) I got a 2080 Ti when it came out and boy do I feel conned.

Reminds me of the old graphics card box art each company thought was cool. Now we get to finally see graphics like the early 2000 box art we were all promised, THANKS NVIDyA I'm not dead just yet! Now can companies start focusing on finishing their games and being creative like those days too that would be great..

I know this is about rendering, not animation, but there are some points where you can see cropping. Like at 1:25 when he's going up, around his right arm-pit, and at 2:16, his right leg's thigh crops into his calf

As of now this demo will be releasing soon and can run on a 2080 Ti as far as we officially know from the livestream that covered the new RTXDI rendering method. RTXDI in and of itself is a complete game changer for ray tracing.
