Excellent, thorough video. Thanks for all the information and the write up with links. I just got my forks on yesterday and was trying to verify size of the magnets for the speedo. Here in a few this GSXR1000 shock is going on too. Thanks again for the post.

If you shop around and be patient the right one will come along. I got my 06/07 GSXR front end for 350 total including the front wheel/rims/rotors/calipers etc. After selling all my SV front end components on SVRiders I ended up almost breaking even! The GSXR forks are definitely shorter. I got them professionally tuned today along with my ZX10R rear shock. The mechanic told me the GSXR front end puts my bike 20mm LOWER than the optimal SV setting so I should expect a quicker turn in.

For the OEM GSXR 600 front rotor (06-07) I used 1/4inch diameter magnets + the corresponding cup holders from Lee Valley Tools. I can't verify the size of other rotors...but all the info should definitely be on SVRiders forum. Good luck!

But yeah, overall using the GSXR front end + ZX10R rear shock combo has definitely increased handling and comfortability in riding. Highly recommend it!

I reused the stock SV bearings at the neck. You have to use the GSXR front wheel with the GSXR fork so you cannot reuse any of the SV spacer/front wheel components. I bought the entire front end complete (w/ wheel) so I did not have to search for the pieces individually.

Damn good looking bike. I'm jealous. I want an sv650 naked sooo badly. Only thing I would change is put some Renthal fatbar handle bars on there. Complements the upright riding position of the bike, more predictable handling.

Excellent video, thank you very much. I've got a question: 1.75" t-bolt clamp in metric is 43mm. The fork leg at that point however is 50mm. How can this fit? Especially since you state that you need larger clamps than the fork diameter.

Very interesting video. THanks a lot. I had an accident where a car hit me on the front left and the left 'leg' of the frontend is bent a bit. I'm contemplating if I'm selling the bike or doing a swap like you. It looks amazing btw. How did this influence the ride?

Hi, I am replacing handlebar set up on my sv650. I already have a gsxr set up and trying to decide if I should go with a 3" rise or 2". Do you by chance have any pictures of your bike where I could look more closely? And whats your opinion on 3" risers, is it aggressive enough for canyon riding? Thank you!

z zr600 kawasaki front forks drop straight in old sv1999-2002 models yokes, the front wheels the same size too & better brekes.oOnly drawback is the speedo drive is mechanical so you'll need a zzr600 compatable speedo.

Hi guys I have the 04 gsxr front end. I had my tires changed and noticed when I was installing the wheel that there is no axle spacer at all. I’m pretty sure nothing fell when I was taking it off. Does anyone have the same year? I just wanna make sure I’m not missing anything. Please help! Thanks

The tapered region is NOT 50mm!!! I made that mistake when i ordered fork clamps from Aztec8. I bought the 50mm size which were way too large for the tapered region. 50mm is the lower diameter which is below the tapered region. I am not sure what the exact size for the tapered region is but the 1.75" t-bolt clamp definitely fits. I bought both the 1.50" and 1.75". The 1.50" were too small. Good luck!

Hey man, what Galfer brake line kit did you get? I bought a kit for a GSX-R 750, but they were too short so I have to return them.
@spentfuelpool
@spentfuelpool 10 жыл бұрын
I came across two issues with buying brake lines for the GSXR front end conversion: 1) I switched from the standard GSXR clip-ons to 3.5" riser clip-ons which brought the handlebars MUCH higher. 2) I switched from the SV master cylinder to the GSXR master cylinder. The GSXR master cylinder requires a 90 degree bend in the banjo whereas the SV does not. I ended up ordering mine through svracingparts (where I also bought the 3.5" risers). I told them I needed the lines fitted for a GSXR front end using their 3.5" risers and the GSXR master cylinder. The product I got from them is this: "Custom Gen 2 2007 SV650 Black SS Front Brake Lines Kit with Option A 90 Degree Radial Mount Fittings for GSXR on SVRP Clip On Bar Set" Not sure how much that helps but I would recommend calling up a motorcycle shop and getting a custom fit. It sounds like you are not using the stock GSXR 750 clip ons or else I don't see why the kit would not fit.
@boristhecat19
@boristhecat19 10 жыл бұрын
Correct, I am using woodcraft clip-ons with 2'' of rise. I also bought a Brembo 19x18 master cylinder to replace the decrepit GSX-R master cylinder that I decided not to install. The lines I have now will line up with the master cylinder despite not having a 90 degree bend, but they are two or three inches too short. When I return my current lines, I guess I will just ask them if they can make custom lines for a GSX-R 750 and see if they can just make them 3'' longer than normal. I would use SVRacingparts.com, but I need to return my incorrect lines to the company I bought them from.

Hi SpentFuel or to whoever that reads this comment I would really appreciate your answer. I have the same exact set up. At the end of your video you said that you’re gonna take it to the shop to have your front suspension professionally measured. Did you research the specifications at all because I do have a second person that could assist me. Please help because it’s very hard to find the measurements on youtube or anywhere else since the bike is now a hybrid so you can’t refer to the manual or the internet for answers. It’s probably there but difficult to find. Thank you!

I not 100% sure, but I think what he is talking about is having the forks tuned by a professional for his personal rider settings. But if he is indeed talking about the height of the forks, then yes the gsxr forks are slightly shorter then the stock sv forks by about an inch. Most fix this problem by running a taller 120/70 tire as a supposed to the sv 120/60 stock tire.

@SwagA52298
@SwagA52298 6 жыл бұрын
James Barros in all honesty, the gsxr front is really a bling mod more then function. The cheaper option is to just to upgrade the front fork springs and fork oil. For the rear shock, the zx10 and zx14 units drop right in, and can be had on eBay for cheap. (Brought mines for 30$). I would suggest that you join the sv forum svrider.com for it has tons of info everything dealing with these bikes.

Thank you. I'm on svrider (used to be on socalsv back in the day) but there's just SO MUCH info it's hard to find. Any thoughts on emulators? Race-tech is right down the road and I'm pondering working with them.
@SwagA52298
@SwagA52298 6 жыл бұрын
James Barros I view it as this, if you consistently ride hard and track the bike, emulators, new springs, and fork oil will give you the best setup. But if you ride hard once in awhile and barely do track days I think springs and fork oil will be fine. For me personally springs and oil give me the solid front-end feel that I wanted.
