I install L Track in the Transit van for mounting well anything but mostly for our mountain bikes.

That is a beautiful job. I must invest in a full commercial grade workshop. My sarcasm aside, its great to see such competent engineering.

I use L track to secure dog kennels in the bed of my truck...I was headed down the path of using the exact same l track fittings and sunite mounts for my bikes when youtube handed me your video... I've run rockshox reverb, fox transfer and Bikeyoke Revive posts; the Revive is by far the most reliable, serviceable and durable of the three. It's the only one that's completely user serviceable without specialty or fabricated tools and doesn't use a sealed nitrogen cartridge. It works consistently in all temperatures, has self bleeding valve for it's hydraulic circuit and hasn't developed any play. I've got about 500 hours on it and it hasn't needed a rebuild, but I've rebuilt it anyway, because it's cheap and easy. So you have my recommendation on dropper posts, and thanks for the video!

Nice video (you are super handy and have all kinds of tools!!), I just got a 2020 Ford Transit van and am setting it up for biking adventures. :-) you want a "Fox Transfer" dropper post, if that's too expensive then go for a "PNW" dropper

I can recommend the bikeyoke revive. It's quiet, very easy to service and has mechanical actuation so no bleeding is required. The only downside is, that it's pricey and I don't know if you can get one where you live.

Once you get a dropper, you'll never have another mountain bike without one. Looks like you did some touring in Europe? I did that as well before I had my first kid. :)

Yeah I've wanted a dropper for awhile now and the van moved me forward. I really did like it for the 2 rides that I went on with it. I'll be getting a different one soon! That was in Asia....

Nice job on the layout, love the utility. Where did you source the composite floor?
@BurtonsAttic4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Troy. I got lucky as I purchased this van off the lot with the factory upgrade floor already installed. I think it was around an $800 option, well worth it. It does get cold in the winter. Need to add a layer of carpet over it. Getting there...

When you drill into the body, is there something you can put for rust or leak protection?
@kellstat3 ай бұрын
Did you use lube on seatpost? That will cause creaking no matter what post is used with out it. Nice looking setup there. What floor material did you use? Is it dove tailed or finger jointed? What was the reasoning/benefits of methodology?

L track came from aircraft seat tracks. All airliners use it for seat configuration. Don't know where you bought yours but USCARGOCONTROL.com sells multiple anchor types. Been using it for years. They also have round disk type anchors. Low profile. Good job by the way.

Where did you get that front fork mounting piece? That is it called? I'm using a giant dropper post. Pretty damn smooth. Wire actuation, but hydraulic/gas tube to physically move the post. Disclaimer, I haven't ridden it enough in the last several months, and it actually seized up on me. I ordered a new cartridge a couple days ago.

Giant Contact. I think this is the same one I have, but I have a 125mm (short guy problems). www.amaincycling.com/giant-contact-switch-150mm-travel-dropper-seatpost-2x-lever-30.9x440mm-150000069/p680449?gclid=CjwKCAiAwZTuBRAYEiwAcr67OcSooiJoIRi4iWS3AGgm8CyGdTnOpnHlMdoIW4QlnE2ydZ6uzzHAvxoCcVgQAvD_BwE

Fox Transfert. Never had an issue and works like clockwork
@BurtonsAttic4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Marc, since then I have put on a Rockshox Reverb that I got on sale and once completely bled out it works awesome. Took two bleeding sessions with the bike verticalish over night to get there. No noise, no sponge, very responsive, works great.

Burton's Attic also a good dropper. Have one on an other bike. I got the fox after and like it just that little bit more.

Jiminy that is the factory upgrade floor. I got lucky and found this van on the lot with it. It's a composite plastic with a bonded rubberized top coating. Nice material but I don't know where you could get it other than from Ford. Optioned on my window sticker as HD CARGO FLR-DLT REAR VINYL
