This car is in absolutely beautiful condition. I have a 97 850R wagon in the same color, and the paint has definitely seen better days. I've owned it for a few years now, and I still look back at it every time I park it somewhere. Volvo really outdid themselves with the styling of these cars.

You can really hear the lifters tick. No surprise after sixteen years of standing. But what a beautiful 850R. Looks to be mint

Absolutely! I'm sure it scares a few people but totally normally with a Volvo. Still so surprised she ran with basically just a stage 0 zero tune up.

You might consider eplacing the rubber coolant hoses to the heater core and heater core manifold at the fire wall. O rings will harden and fail leaking coolant... other wise possibly drop the oil pan to replace the Orings for the oil pump pick up.

This must have been kept in a museum, I have never see such a clean car after being stored for that time, no corrosion at all even the alloy parts have not got crusty, aux belt looks good for that length of time, really nice condition.

Nice man! Like to see your 850R running without any trouble! The knocking in the first minute of when it runs will probably be the hydraulic lifters. This car is ready for some happy km's! I also have a 850 but just a normal 2.0 T5. I enjoy it everyday!

I won't worry too much about my 96 wagon starting now. I guess I'll get it a new battery in spring and get on with the repairs. [ parked under a willow tree in a boat yard for 3 years and used as 'parts shed', rusty sunroof 'bucket' and perforations in the roof around the s/r. So much scrubbing of the rear carpets too! ] Great short.

Thank you! I did replace the turbo intake hose with a Samco hose as I still had a spare one. To be honest I did not spin the turbo! Maybe I should have. No, the exhaust is custom which was done back in 2003 at a local performance muffler shop.

So you were the owner throughout the entire time, right? You did not just find the car recently? I had mine sitting for 3,5 years when I worked in the US. Started up no problem, but as I put it into storage in the middle of winter abd it had been driven in snow and salt, unfortunately lots of chassis parts, bolts etc, showed a lot of corrosion. Your must be automatic, as it seems to have the „normal“ brown injectors, right?
@projectpetrol5828
@projectpetrol5828 3 жыл бұрын
We have been second owners since 1997. Yeah it's a US spec 4 speed Auto. Sorry to hear about your car and the corrosion. Do you think it will be fixable?
@TR850
@TR850 3 жыл бұрын
@@projectpetrol5828 Yes, no problem, all exchangeable parts and the body is in great shape still. After my return from the US to Europe I just had a Volvo dealer go over everything for 5 or 6k and all was good again. I think that is still fairly reasonable cost after 15 years of ownership.
