Quick video to change out the alternator after the abandoned MOT fiasco..... can I get it done fast before the rain arrives!!!!

Well done. This channel is fast becoming a great resource for us TFers. The good availability of cheap parts, often reconditioned ones like this, is what makes the F/TF a great hobby car.

Glad you got it sorted ... good guy ole Graham... he helped me out with lots of stuff, when I started recommissioning my own Mg I had the galvanised subframes off him and I have become friends I hope to take my car up to see him in a little while as a but of a run out to put some miles in it .. good video , be careful doing things for speed purposes I find things break easily at speed and end up costing more ... keep the videos coming hope to meet up at some stage for a chin wag .

Brilliant Craig. Thanks very much. The bolt by the oulley has fallen out of mine. How I have no. Idea. Thanks for the video. Helped me understand it. I see as well as the bolt I am missing a spacer. Cheers 🍻

Timely need to fit new alternator and i had forgot where the bolts spacers and brackets went so your video is a great help

I’ve had to change my alternator 3 times and each time enjoyed it. They do an uprated rose joint tensioner kit which is worth looking into.

.... the times, have you diagnosed why it keeps failing. Good to hear you're enjoying it though.

Congrats on your prediction of the time to get the job done. Whenever I attempt that, it usually takes ten times the predicted time for whatever reason.😂

No worries Paul, it's been a nice weekend so starting to feel like summers approaching. Still loads to do, but it'd be nice if it was road legal so I could enjoy it as I work on it. 👍

With those three bolts under the sound bar, I have a small lathe and I reduced half the threads down to the roots, that way I can drop them into the cover and there is less turning to get them tight.

Good idea, I might have a quick go with a file. There has to be a better way of licking this down quickly.

Great! today dropped the front subframe on my TF, I am changing the front upper suspension bushes, stupid design to say the least, great car to drive huge fun but dam the design engineers need to made to maintain the cars, it would be a different story then.

Sounds like you like hard graft, I hope it went well. That's the thing with us designers, great at design but not so much thinking of how it will be operated or maintained.

It was, didn't get everything else back together.... but it was. Don't forget I had it out already when I did the cam belt so knew the lay of the land.
