Very helpful video. I personally wouldn't use a power tool for reassembly due to the risk of overtightening.

You get smart points for reading the manual. I have worked on multi-million dollar equipment that require understanding the manual along with electrical, mechanical and wiring diagrams.

Yea, even though it is against the rules, I worked at electrical power plants where both tech's and engineers read first and then worked on equipment. We just didn't tell anyone we did that after work.

Great to know! I had no idea I needed to grease that. I love my Honda trimmer (I have the same model). Upgrading the head with a SpeedFeed head made this trimmer amazing.

Never knew the glove advice..... good to know. As for the Honda, I've had both 35s and 25s going into 6 years now... I only use them on my home during the season... very good quality engines... iI always fill them with Chevron premium never used any other fuel... they are worth the price.

do we need to grease the cone shaped part connecting the shaft and engine? mine came unassembled without any grease.... and there is nothing written about it in the manual

How do you grease the trimmer head? Where do you put the grease exactly?

Hi David .... Couple of quick question regarding the greasing procedure..... 1. Does the Shop Manual tell the intervals for the Shaft re-greasing, is it the same as the Transmission Head? (50Hrs or 6 Monthly) 2. Is the (NLGI 2) or (NLGI 1.5 odd Number Close as Dammit 😁) used in both applications, The Head and the Shaft?. Going to be doing this in the next month or so 👍.

Thank you for asking. 1. The manual states 50 hours or 6 months but every 6 months for a homeowner seems a bit much to me. I am an every 3 to 5 seasons type because I drain the fuel and store my equiptment in a controlled environment as opposed to the shed out back. 2. Grease for both places states; "Lithium based multi-purpose grease NLGI #2 or equivalent." as the paraffin wax and the weight of the oil can vary from one source to another and still meet the NLGI #2 requirements. This is not a bad job if you do not disassemble the gear case head.

Great video. Broke my flex shaft. Cannot find a replacement. Tried many sources but the no longer have them. Any idea?

I have been going to Boats.net Once you drill down to your trimmer, Look at the "Frame Pipe" and see if they have it. If not you might be able to cheat by buying one from a new model. I think you want DRIVE SHAFT 41411-VH8-640 for $13 + S&H
