Is there a formula to dynamically track the visible rows after sorting and totaling them? I have a Transaction sheet with 10 rows of data. When I sort I want the items in the Amount column to get totaled and placed in The Grand Totals column. Is right now is it's adding ALL Amounts and displaying it in the Totals and if I sort but another criteria the Grand Total stays the same instead of changing to only what is showing.

The SUBTOTAL function can skip hidden rows.

Yes, it does three levels of sorting. That was added after this video. If you install the add-on, the new capability will be there.

I have been using Query for this. So much more powerful than Sort.

QUERY is great, but it doesn't rearrange the original data. StaySorted is for users who want one list, not a new dynamic one.

Do you do an affiliate program for this? Also, I'm creating a Google sheet which I will be selling to a group of people. I have added 'Stay Sorted' to the sheet, therefore, anyone that buys the sheet will have to purchase it also in order for certain data to automatically update I guess?

Sheets doesn't know what criteria by which to rank sparklines. They're data visualizations, not numbers or strings.

ok This was really helpful but for some reason my information in other columns keeps getting mixed up when my spreadsheets automatically sorts. Any ideas of what I may have done wrong?

It works with drop-downs like a text string or number, depending on what's in the dropdown. It shouldn't be a problem. Are you experiencing issues?

This doesn't work if your data is more complicated. It mixed my data and put contact information under the wrong business name.

Mixing the data in the rows should not be related to the complexity of the data. It is like a regular sort in that way. As long as you capture all the columns, the rows stay intact. No, it is a Google Workspace add-on. It runs in any browser, not just Chrome.
