Glock names their guns after the patent for that design. The glock 17 was the 17th patent. The glock 44 was the 44th patent, so on and so forth.

Scott, after my experience with the TX22, if I actually owned one, that would be my go-to and the G44 would sit in the safe.

@@RidersRange mines working real well. I can actually get 28 rounds in mine. I had to unload it and reload it just to be sure. I bought a collar on ebay that goes around the pmags to help load them 12 bucks and worth every penny

Joe_K, I had the occasional failure to feed from the Pro Mags even when downloaded to 10 rounds. However, they weren't any more or less frequent than fully loaded, though my experimenting with them has been limited.

Pancho, thanks for watching and adding your thoughts. I just tested several guns with the new Federal .22 Punch ammo and compared it side-by-side with CCI Standard Velocity rounds and the G44 ran both ammo types just fine out of the ProMags. (Video coming out in the near future.)

Lee, I agree. So far, the TX22 is far ahead of the G44.

I’m a Glock guy 100%. But I have a Taurus TX22 and it is by far my favorite 22 pistol. I’ve shot thousands of rounds through it with no problems other than the occasional dud you get every now and then.

@@Jeffisright I sold my Glock 44 shortly after they came out. I recently bought another one after hearing of the improved reliability & it is absolutely true. I ran 500 rounds of really old Federal Bulk with no issues. That was after running a couple boxes of Stingers, 2 sleeves of Mini-Mags & 2 boxes of Aguila Super Extra. TX-22 & Sig P-250 both commonly have failures with that ammo ( those 2 were previously my best .22s). I would say my Glock 44 has surpassed my TX-22 as my best .22LR semi auto. It was also only ~$50 more than the Taurus is currently on offer for.

Makes me wonder if field "beta" testing is a thing of the past. Maybe the bean counters said it isn't worth it.

Jonathan, so far they have worked okay, but there are many reviews that have mixed result. Once I get more time with these, I'll have to do a follow-up.

Jerry, I love my Buck Mark (see our recent video on that gun), but the Browning and the Glock are in different classes for different purposes.

John, thanks for watching and for commenting. I need to spend more time on the range with the ProMags in the G44, but so far, they seem to be just about as reliable as the Glock mags. I have seen reviews that say they run better once "broken in", but I've seen other reviews that have problems with one or more mags. It looks like the ProMags are hit or miss, but I am satisfied with their reliability so far.

Matt, thanks for watching and commenting. I haven't found the loading technique to be an issue with the Pro Mags. As to breaking in the mag spring, just keeping it loaded doesn't do much, as a spring only "breaks in" when it is exercised. That means load, shoot, repeat. 😎

treesablowin, so far, these seem to be on par with the 10-round Glock mags for reliability, but not quite up to Taurus TX22 standards.

Nicholas, I have to wonder who at ProMag decided on small buttons and that strong spring. I hope they come out with a Version 2 that corrects those issues.

Henry, they do seem to be sensitive to loading technique. I let the follower up fully after loading each round and that seems to work okay.

TURBO BILL, the G44 does seem to like the Mini-Mags and the Stingers (Stangers for 22 Plinkster).

The reviews seem to be hit or miss with the G44 Pro Mags.

That sounds more like promag... I'll probably wait to get larger mags until someone else makes them. It's almost like promag doesn't even care if their shit works.

@RidersRange it's ok I watched a few videos on the 18 round magazine and it looks nearly identical to the stock. I'm put my order in for the mags and but plate extension. Going to do review soon

They are listed on several on-line sites, but only Grabagun shows them in stock as of this afternoon..

Are they a good safe place to order?

Jason, from the reports I have seen and read it appears that the ProMags are hit or miss - some are good, some aren't.

Dr DO, I have read mixed reports on these. So far, mine work okay, though I'm not sure I would like to depend on them in a serious social encounter. I just bought a couple of ProMags for my Canik TP9 SFX. I'll be doing a report on them in the near future.

More time shooting, less time swapping mags. And yes, it seems that lots of folks are in a hurry to shoot up lots of ammo, even at today's prices. Thanks for watching and commenting.
