I hear this in my head every time it gets foggy out

Never played Silent Hill myself but I always believe that music makes the game. Must be a quality game, they certainly have a great sense in music.

You look out into the distant fog. Your home feels slightly unsafe when you catch sight of it. A figure standing there. Blurry. But they're there. You blink and try to convince yourself that it's all in your head. They're still there, staring at you. You realize it's a reflection.

Who hears this in every mystery/horror channel?

This song always gives me a general feeling of unease, like I didn't do my homework or something. The kind of gut-drop feeling when something isn't right, like something is missing. It's fantastic and beautiful and eerie.

I feel strangely guilty and regretful when I hear this song. Like my whole life had been a lie and I was living in a cage.

the thing I find beautiful about this piece is the ending of it. From where it stopped it can easily be picked up again, and be repeated from the beginning. It's as if it symbolizes loneliness and hopelessness. because, those emotions never really stop; they just keep on going. The ending isn't really an ending it's just a place to stop until those feelings of solitude return to haunt you again.

We will never forget you Silent Hill games. Fans will truly miss you for making the games, rip 1999-2012.

For some reason I feel so sad when I hear this song.

I've always found this theme (or rather this recreation, really) to be way creepier than sad. Like it's signalling some kinda terrifying fate about to hunt you, like realizing something really terrible, slowly consuming your mind and going mindlessly insane but being in too much of a shock to actually do anything, just stay there in disbelief. Or the soundtrack to your death, just dying slowly and in loneliness in the middle of nowhere, regretting your past transgretions and not even attempting to make it through what's killing you, just accepting it and then slowly closing your eyes, for good. I guess that's sad in some ways, but it gives me goosebumps more than depress me.

This was my "walk down the aisle" song at my wedding. My husband and i just had a baby girl and named our daughter alessa after silent hill.

I dunno why but this helps me write just about anything.

This song just reminds me of how strong depression and anxiety can be. Having the feeling that both all is lost but you can still see them. And others don’t see what you see in your eyes. They don’t know that what you see is deeper than the actual way they see it. They think that you feel alright but the pain is still devouring the soul in them. People say that the others that have pain are just trying to get attention....But there’s a reason why they need it. The song just reminds me of others that have depression and don’t know how to get out of it..... But remember guys....Never give up when you get this far.....

I learned to play this a year ago, still my favorite song to play on the piano.

I love how much higher pitched the song gets at 0:15. I love the original, but adding that higher octave just makes it seem so much more sad and hopeless.

Ah Silent Hill 2. One of the greatest masterpieces known to the horror franchise in my opinion. I will always cherish this game for how great it was. Nothing will top this for being my favorite game.

Every song tells you a story, and everyone enterprets it differently, maybe based on a past experience or a feeling, and here's what this one is telling me is : "someone has finally got what they wanted but only when they stopped wanting it, like someone reached a goal they so long dreamt of then realized it was never worth the efforts and sacrifices, a soldier lost all his comrads for the sake of a mission and survived alone, somebody we loved for so long and bled for, for so long coming back after we're already numb and dead, like they're not real, some kind of silhouette that ment the world at that period of time and now it means nothing at all, and it's sad cuz your past self would trade the world for it. That lost promise was finally restored but only when it was too late......

Heartbreaking.

This song brings such a beautiful, weird feeling to me. It reminds me of autumn, leaves falling, and covering the ground. Reminds me of a gorgeous gloomy day with a cold breeze while doing something fun and spooky with the one you love. This song transports me there to that moment and I can almost literally smell the air and feel the dampness of the beautiful October day...
