Speaking and imitating are different.
If you are feeling your English sounds like your native tongue, spend a lot of time on imitating until your tongue and voice learn to pronounce well!
Takes months, but let's keep going!

I've been learning English for years. I realized that there is a huge difference between learning English and English acquisition. I do shadowing every single day, I hope it works. I realized that there were lots of words I used to mispronounce. Thanks a million 🙏

It's really amazing that you managed to achieve a native pronunciation after completely missing the critical period. Incredible.

That's why your pronunciation is like a native speaker due to the imitation. Thank you for your new lesson for today. Watching from Philippines 🇵🇭 Mabuhay.

In french school if you try to use the "English accent" everyone makes fun of you , so don't worry it's not only in Japan.

Intriguing Tip: Improve Pronunciation by Listening, Not Speaking (at First) The title "Pronunciation Practice Tip: DON'T SPEAK!" might seem counterintuitive, but there's a powerful learning strategy behind it. When you're first trying to improve your pronunciation in a new language, focusing on listening and imitating can be surprisingly effective. Here's why: Accurate Input: By listening carefully to native speakers, you train your ear to recognize the correct sounds and rhythms of the language. This creates a solid foundation for replicating those sounds yourself later. Muscle Memory: When you imitate what you hear, you're engaging the muscles in your mouth and throat that produce speech. With consistent practice, these muscles develop the memory needed to naturally produce the sounds. How to Put This Tip into Action: Find Audio Resources: Look for movies, TV shows, podcasts, or audiobooks in your target language. Active Listening: Don't just listen passively. Pay close attention to how words are pronounced, the rhythm of speech, and the intonation used in questions and statements. Shadowing: This technique involves listening to a short audio clip and then immediately repeating what you hear, mimicking the pronunciation and intonation as closely as possible. Beyond Listening: Building on Your Foundation While listening and imitating are a great starting point, at some point you will want to transition to speaking and practicing your pronunciation actively. Here are some ways to complement your listening practice: Record Yourself: Record yourself speaking and compare your pronunciation to native speakers. This can help you identify areas for improvement. Find a Language Partner: Connect with someone who is a native speaker of your target language. This allows you to practice conversations and receive feedback on your pronunciation in real-time. Additional Resources for Pronunciation Practice There are many resources available online and offline to help you improve your pronunciation. Consider exploring these options: Online Pronunciation Dictionaries: These can provide audio samples of words and phrases spoken by native speakers. Language Learning Apps: Many language learning apps incorporate pronunciation practice exercises and games. Remember, consistent practice is key to improving your pronunciation. By combining listening and imitation with other techniques, you can develop clear, confident communication skills in your target language.

Hi Maddie! I have been learning English for 2 years. Last 6 months I have consumed only English videos on KZfaq. I practice shadowing American speakers. Despite spending all of my time learning English, I see nothing Improvement. Please, Maddie, Give me a Suggestion for me!

in my case I've been learning English for about year now, however for this amount of time I was able to achieve an Advanced level in this language, and I inclined to think that all of this achievements because of I assumed only English on a regular basis, however I used to read book a lot in this language and as a result I expanded my vocabulary thanks to reading, but if you want to make a noticeable result, just surround yourself only with English, English is not just a subject it's a language, therefore you need to surround your background with this language, think only in English, and always practice this language when you get an opportunity)
