Thank you everyone to your helpful comments and input! Clearly, the major lesson here is don't try to determine if yours is fake based on my video. Its more, If it looks like a fake, and smells like a fake, and the Chanel Rep. SAYS its a fake, then it's probably a fake. But, mainly I knew that if I posted the video publicly, eBay would be more likely to give me a refund which they did :)

She was comparing her fake to the genuine store TESTER bottle, which did not have the usual info on the bottom because they are not produced or intended for sale to the public (the bottle is still the same though). All genuine Chanel perfume bottles for retail to customers have the label info etched onto the glass bottom (never a stick-on label). :)

But mine has the label at the bottom and it's not fake!

Mmm I have my doubts...I have Coco Mademoiselle and is original, I bought it at the Chanel store. Mine has the description at the bottom and the same pale liquid color. I think yours is not fake. Maybe the one at the store is different because of the year of production.

I am assuming that testers would have different labeling... But, I agree I would never ever purchased Chanel especially "new" from the Ebay... Did it once and never again... All the best!😀

Shop testers have list of notes on back but the ones for sale don't . There should be a code on back of bottle near bottom usually 4 digits kinda engraved into glass.

In response to the comments on the tester, the biggest problem was the smell. It smelled 100% NOT like chanel

So many dumb comments by viewers, she wasn't saying the one in store was fake, if you listen carefully you'll realise she brought in her own bottle she bought online, read the description ppl!! Anyway I hope you got your refund from the seller. I love this perfume so much it's the only one I have ever repurchased out of all the perfumes I have :)

Best way to avoid fakes...Buy from sellers who have 20k or more feedback (there are plenty online). Also when in doubt go for a 1.7 oz, the fake counterfeiters usually only make 3.4 oz fakes. And finally, if it's too good to be true it probably is. You're not gonna find a new, 3.4 oz authentic Coco M for $40 anywhere.

This lady doesn't know what she is talking bout. She's comparing a tester bottle against a "fake bottle". The only way you can really tell if it's fake is if you have the BOX and BOTTLE. Then you have to match up all the engraved/embroidered 4 digit number. It's a print number because each print is for quality issues in case something went wrong on the factory line to where they need to do reverse traceability. Then the obvious prints of ownership on the BOX and bottom of the BOTTLE. Not where this lady is saying the back lol. This fragrance has been out since 2001 era. They have made and tweak the bottle/prints since. In short, if the basic prints match (again they will vary for quality control print times) and the bottle smells the same. You pretty are spot on. Again, you can't go to the store and "test" it because the tester are usually much different, sadly. But true.

When a perfume is altered by light or a sun, it tends to have a darker color. Compare your bottle to the bottles they keep on the display, they all have much darker color as opposed to what you get in a box. So, that's normal.

I think the lighter coloured one (tthe one you own) is in fact the EDT, Eau de toilette, while the darker one (the one you compared it to) is the EDP, eau de parfum. Sorry if I'm wrong

Testers CAN'T BE ANY DIFFERENT from the regular flankers let it be its shape, the stopper (even the sprayer), the spray tube, the writing, the color of the edt, and above all the scent itself!

Oh WOW! Even the stems that attach to the sprayer are different.

I was able to because I was only focused on the Chanel counter, and I asked the Chanel representative if I could, and let her know what I was up to. She kept and eye on me, but I asked her help as a professional to verify first that it was fake. I wasn't doing it secretly, she knew what was going on and helped me out

If you see from the video description, I brought my fake that I bought on ebay into the Chanel boutique of my local debenhams to have verified of its authenticity by a Chanel representative.

The degree of exposure is not justified so does the level of 'darker'... how do you gauge? Yes, I agree that lights and sun exposure may cause the edt turns darker, but could it as soon as it gets out from the box? Unless if the testers are more than ten years or so... I have many flankers usually the first batch edt, (bought the year they were marketed) the color of the juice stays the same after many years, so does the smell.

Never buy fragrance from eBay most of them are fake, I only buy from real store

The sticker on the back of the authentic one is a tester bottle. That is if the other is a fake.. I'm having a hard time telling because of the angles. Testers may have their stickers on the back sometimes... But, one main things to look for when you suspect your perfume is counterfeit, is #1 look at the tube inside the bottle. Designers want their bottles to look perfect, including the tube inside. If it doesn't reach the bottom or if it looks way too long, like it is curling or starting to form the shape of an S, chances are it is fake. Also, the top of the tube in fakes tends to just look cheap. The top part of the tube of a fake, the kinda y shape when the tube connects to the nozzle, will be longer and very visible, compared to an authentic, where you would only see just the bottom of the connector. #2 caps should fit perfectly. They should not be loose. #3 look for the batch code. Chanel and Dior normally have their batch codes printed on the back of the bottle. Also correlate those codes with the ones on the box that your bottle came in. I believe the batch codes are a mix of 4 letters/numbers on Chanel and Dior. Others have longer or shorter batch codes. Also, the obvious. Make sure everything is spelled correctly.

I think my husband just purchased a fake for me accidentally. Sticker is under instead of at the back .... Smell doesn't last either which is quite unusual

I'm trying to figure out if my 1.2 oz Mademoiselle bottle is fake. All I need to know is does CoCo Chanel Mademoiselle 1.2 oz come in the original form bottle (like the bigger bottle) or do they not make the 1.2 oz in that size bottle? Please answer if anyone knows. Testers are different from actually sale bottles I love my coco chanel mademoiselle and I know where I got it from was legit but for perfume collectors this scared me for a min because I adore all my perfumes

Yours is definitely fake. But some testers have the info on the back. The labeling, poor bottle construction, and black in the atomizer proves it’s completely fake. Coco mademoiselle only had a white atomizer.

Wow so according to this video the Chanel I have is fake and hubby and I bought it from Macy's and I always thought it smelled different then my old bottle I ran out of and at first I thought maybe my body chemistry has somehow changed over the years and that's why it didn't smell the same but this kind of confirms my fear of it being fake but how the hell can this happen on such a reputable store!? I'm truly appalled and since it's been over a year since I have had it I can't do anything about it at this point so I just have it sitting there in my perfume collection as a reject I don't have the heart to throw away and no desire to wear. 😡

If something is too good to be true, it probably is. You cant expect to get a genuine bottle of Mademoiselle for 30 quid online if it usually retails for £100+ 🤷‍♀️ If you know you're buying fake, parting with a fraction of the money and dont mind then what's the harm? But if you absolutely want the real deal then it might be an idea to stick with reputable sellers i.e Boots, Superdrug etc 😊

The smell is what really matters. If you can spray it twice and give yourself a killer headache then you've got the real deal:-p I could spray that fake all day long, and it'd disappear five minutes later.

my husband ordered a coco mademoiselle in ebay at a very low price of £44.99 without shipping fee. but i was kinda worried about the cheap price that it might be fake but my husband thinks otherwise and told me not to worry. i just hope when it arrives next week all is well. thanks for this video, i will compare the perfume using this video
