As a Storm trooper you have my sympathy on that helmet. Some small 5V squirrel fans on a USB booster battery are great to help keep air moving and reduce the fogging. Throw in a thin smear of washing up liquid and you should be good for a day!

Oh man thank you for showing us how you attach your armor and putting it on. We need more of these videos on youtube. I'm a visual learner so sometimes even text and a picture don't always help me figure out how to attach my armor when I'm finished making it.

I tried to glue the velcro straight to my foam armor pieces, and it tended to break off often. Sewing the velcro to the material that stays better on is yet again simple yet genius. Thank you!

the mechanist originates from a comic book in the fallout universe and was first seen in fallout 3 (the infamous battle between him and the ant agonizer =O),then another person is the mechanist in fallout 4...pretty epic. and yeah,i do agree,on spot !

Loving the costume. I do prefer the Mechanist costume from Fallout 3, as the boots look a little more straight forward to do.

How do you normally solve the foggyness? Do you add a fan or more ventilation? Or do you put some of the scuba diving mask defog gel on the lenses?

I'm currently working on a Doctor Fate costume, and most of the pieces will be made of foam. The helmet be sculpted, molded, and casted (not by me, not sure with what). I believe it will be coated with fiberglass afterward. I need make the helmet appear the to be the same material as these foam pieces. One of the foam pieces will cover my lower abdomen and waist, so I'm worried that if I use paint, it will crack. Any suggestions?

Actually that's a question how do you stop your lens from fogging. It's happens a lot to me when I wear goggles. Might make for a good tutorial

I was thinking the same thing. I think a coating of RainX (the stuff you use on your car's windshield) would work. Also, smearing, then wiping off shaving cream might work; I know this works on bathroom mirrors. Other than that, the only thing i can think of is to provide ample ventilation. So yeah, curious how Bill solved this one.

this is inacurate in fallout 4 the mechanist is a female not a male so youll need a female using that as a cosplay
