Their favorite means of getting rich is to lend money at an interest rate. The word for it is usury. Basically ripping off your fellow German, British, French, Italian etc. Have you ever seen them in good honesty community spirited jobs like bakery, butchers, milkman, Postman, etc. No but you "will" find them in banks, jewelers, insurance, finance, all sorts of money lending and money changing activities though.

The presenter only said that an "assassination " took place which led to the pogroms. Why was he not more specific and tell the entire story. It was a young German Jew named Greenspan or something, who in Paris assassinated a German high profile diplomat. That was the main reason that the German government decided to make an example of the Jews. A bit like the incident which happened in France during the war. A French village whose name I forget, had its townspeople locked inside a church and then the Nazis soldiers set the church on fire. But most historians in the west prefer to leave out the part where some Maquis from that town captured four high ranking German soldiers and locked them in their staff car. Then they poured gasoline over it and set it alight, burning all four men to death. So you see , usually harsh measures and treatment are usually as a result of something the other side did first.

The fact-checking in this series is nonexistent. The narrator says that the Wehrmacht did not want half-Jews as NCOs. WRONG. The Wehrmacht had one well known half-Jew, Helmuth Wilberg, who was the equivalent of a colonel. He was not allowed to become a general, but he did serve in a very high rank.

Important history - cultural / geography and genealogy was a growing knowledge not well understood in education or taught to populations in those times to balance war and thirst for power in civilization. So, where is any help here to include why Jews always had to be ready to run as Jesus killers from religious ignorance and jealousy of other's economic status. Please refer to a more recent book, Guns, Germs, and Steel, The fate of Human Societies by Jared Diamond , 1999 Pulitzer Prize award. Sorry folks, "Civilization" isn't what it's cracked up to be. And, Jesus was very much a Jew who spoke in the Aramaic language to ninety percent of humans in his world of poverty. Here we are still not figuring out why cities were built to keep out those don't matter, and....... the germs in.

Palestine was a region, not a country. So Palestinians didn't accept the refugees to the area. It was the British who controlled the region and the Jewish settlements.
