They can root in water or soil with ease .you can just rip a piece off and toss it in a glass of water and boom you have a new plant

It grows so fast and easy. The thing with my emerald and gold euonymus is it turned dark green in color. It’s no longer that attractive.

Maybe you could check to see if your soil is too acidic. It is said they prefer more alkaline soil.

VernDecor Home and You with Valrine Vernon that is what usually happens, I was told. The remedy that was suggested to me is to remove the dark green leaf the moment it shows up. But almost all leaves turned dark green. The new leaves are still emerald and gold then turned turned dark green.
