Hey! Tester for Project: Tower Defense here, it's currently closed down because the game has been undergoing development for a huge update, but basically it's closed and only available to testers right now. We'd really appreciate it if you played it when it comes back out. Maybe even with a few of the testers or developers. To add, the game actually has plans for a rewrite. This means player data will be wiped except for gems, event towers, and event skins (I'm not sure about old badges though). It's supposed to allow players to experience the game as inteded. We're sorry about the fact P:TD is closed, it's just that the devs are working really hard to get a huge update out in such a small timeframe. Hope to see you on P:TD eventually!

Fun Fact: the creators PGTD actually made a gambling version of their game as a late april fools joke, but it ended up being more popular than the original, and is now getting updates cuz of it.

Really cool video! altough i would appreciate if you put some more time in cube defense, it's my all time favourite TD game on roblox and there's so many cool things and towers! altough i know the design of the enemies might be simplistic, it gives more of a kind of charm to the game! would really like you to try the game again or play it a bit more!

As a World TD fan I find it really interesting that you considered the gameplay slow. Personally, I always found it's gameplay to be the fastest paced out of all td games on roblox, with even the hardest modes only averaging around 20 minutes. Though tbh, World TD is so far from what's traditionally considered a Tower Defense game that i'd argue it's more of an RTS than an TD which is probably why people have such polarizing views about the game. Edit: Also, absolutely adore how damn brutally harsh you are on the slop gambling td games, most of them deserve it

16:22 So glad to see Arena Tower Defense being reviewed. Saying the lobby is stuffed with little details is an honest understatement as there are a lot of secrets in this game, which results into badges. One example is continuously drinking the Ruby Latte, and another is the code to the staff room. Honestly, the game can be picked up easily as it is not as tedious in grinding compared to other games, and there are at least unique challenges for the boss event which rotates once in a while, also know as Ghost Pepper and Carolina Reaper. And for the modelling, yeah its not the best quality but honestly, it is all simple and its fine anyways. Still cool to see you review the game P.S. yes i am a tester of the game, but i still mainly focus on playing the game itself

You should try Tower Galactia. The game has barely any players, but I’d say it’s a pretty fun and difficult td game. There’s also a story to the game. Unfortunately the game got discontinued

Commenting before watching the video here. I and PRAYING you played World Tower Defense, Critical Tower Defense, and Doomspire Defense. They may not have the best build quality, but can be either challengingly fun, or plainly charming with their style. Hi, back after I finished the video, I'M SAD WTD AND CTD GOT MIDDLING SCORES 😭 WTD's ealry game is indeed slow at times, but the average match is 12-16 minutes long on both Casual and Burdensome, after the first boss, that's when gameplay picks up in speed for Burdensome mode, Casual makes you wait slightly longer for the gameplay to pick up.

World TD mentioned, neuron activation. I would recommend you trying it out again, its kinda hard to start playing but its one of the td games with the most replayability.

Flavor frenzy is a very well made yet underrated Td. There’s multiple game modes, towers, and unique skins Tower Galactica is also very well made but sadly was discouraged. It is difficult and has a little player base left Spirit Defenders is extremely high quality and laggy. There’s a very small player base and it is still getting updated, just extremely slowly Undertale TD I enjoyed a lot. It’s also been discontinued. I find the Deltarune gameplay more fun than the actual Undertale part Bubble Gum TD is like a BTD6 clone. It’s also been discontinued. Evolution Evade is definitely grindy. It’s been discontinued so the developers can work on a sequel for it being: Time Travel TD. I haven’t had time to play it yet, but it is out Edit: Forgot to mention Voxel TD but I also haven’t played it for multiple months 😅

The most underrated TD game is adventure tower defense, you basically start in park and when you beat that you keep unlocking more areas, unlocking more towers, and after the "city" map the game gets really hard and challenging (in a fun way!). The matches are also insanely short, early game areas take around 10 minutes each to beat (park around 6 if ur fast lol). I definetely reccomend trying it out!

The game is discontinued though that's sad but its still rlly fun to just give a try, i'd say the models and ui are bad but the gameplay is rlly good (atleast, at later stages.) theres also perks which add to the strategy and the maps get extremely hard and tough the more you progress

One other cool thing that adds on to the epicness of tower blitz is that it actually feels fun to try out new strategies and ways to play. Another thing you forgot to mention is that each tower blitz tower has two paths instead of one, which is really cool.

Project tower defense did glitch, but now it's closed for testing. The next update is extremely large (literally the biggest update for ptd ever: new towers, new maps etc) , and as a tester for it, I can say: u will have to wait for quite a while before it's out lol.

You should try Flavor Frenzy! It's really fun, and a semi-small fan base. But there's amazing skins, maps, etc!

A nice one that does the retro style quite nicely is Brick Defense. It has a tiny playerbase, frequently dropping to zero players, but receives active updates and it's clearly loved by its devs. The UI is a little messy, and it has a few confusing mechanics, but the towers are cool, the soundtrack is nice, there's a tower that is literally just called nuke, and don't place more than one rokkie unless you want your computer to become a pizza oven.

@@propellarsthis is probably just a personal nitpick from me, but I honestly find arena tower defense really fun. Though I don’t play as much as I used to, the waves are endless once you go into endless (obviously), and the boss scaling is honestly absurd, in a fun and challenging way. Like the wave 300 boss has 2 billion health if I remember correctly. Though it obviously wouldn’t appeal to many people due to its theme, which I understand your middling score, but the select people who are engaged in the game would definitely rate it higher.

there is a game called aether rush that is dead but it was a really fun game, you can control your towers to move around the places, while they can’t die, they can be stunned, there are also capture zones every few waves that allow you to gain extra reward like cash coins and gems if you set units on them and capture it

Pixel Gun Tower Defense made a part 3 and it revolves around gambling. Basically the owner was mad he put so much time into his original game just to get destroyed by other tower defense games that have heavy gambling.

A underrated tower defense game you should have played is: untitled tower defense game. It has 5m visits, but it has a very clean design, high quality and cool animations. Even tho the maps and towers are very classic it is still a good game. Definitely underrated💯

there’s inspiration from arknights, which is definitely the coolest part phantom tower represents phantom, the fast redeploy unit in arknights while vanguard represents penance, a tanky defense that generates shield on kill (def way more inspiration from arknights/other games but those are just the ones i know) i don’t disagree with his opinion, but it’s def biased how because he has played games such as tds or tbz he rates them higher due to having more unlocked content

Big wtd nerd here. I can sorta agree, the earlier modes are a bit sluggish early on. BUT! Later modes get really exciting and fast paced, such as arduous and treacherous. You should check it out some more some time in the future, I would love a video on it!!

It's also worth mention the early units are pretty basic but many other units have unique mechanics and the accessories is really unique among TD games. At least this video isn't John Roblox kind of review.

Good video but I hope you check world tower defense again without playing with random people in public :3 It's a seriously good game...for how unique it is There are multiple types of towers: stationary, moving, building, cliff, floating,... Some long ranged, some made for purely kamikaze for bosses or something else threatening the "cooldown" you mentioned in video is basically a requirement for the game to work since you can just infinity bait any enemy away if there Is no cooldown. There are also accessories to change your tower stats or rework it completely to different types of tower or even using the enemy to fight for you

yeah that's definitely one of the games that I would need to play a lot more to really see the full scope of, but the cooldown is still annoying to me because I need my instant dopamine hit from spam placing towers

You should definitely try Monolith Defense, it may have the Gambling feature thing but it actually keeps you in because of the “Phases” when you first time play it

A few tower defenses I would recommend reviewing are Critical Tower Defense , and Monolith Defense. The first one used to be popular back then but have a much smaller fanbase now, and Monolith Defense is an underrated tower defense I wish others would try.

I like how you criticize tdx for having gambling for skins, when tds does the same thing with all the skin crates that are basically loot boxes, at least the pricing in tdx for skin crates is fair while you need to pay robux for a premium crate in tds.

My favorite TD game I'm grinding rn and it's doomspire defense. And I'm telling you the incident side mode or event thing is amazing. It's hard and has alot of details from the 2011 Roblox hack. And like you said it brings in that retro feeling

update: TDX's endless mode released and it saw player counts in the 30 thousand range but after the hype died down, it's now back to around 3.3k and the new gamemode being named "endless" is misleading as i think wave 171 (used to be 121) is designed to be impossible since there's no wave structures after

16:22 Very happy to see Arena:Tower Defense here! Thank you for your feedback but You did miss out on a ton of details about the game, there are a TON of secrets involving the whole game itself. There are lore stuff too connected to it which can be seen through mails and many more 😶🌫! Only the oldest towers have the free models since they were made back then when Bili_Billie was a solo developer

I think both CTD and WTD deserve a revisit. As both of them show their best content closer to the late game. I do have issues with WTD though, as one of it's modes (arduous) took me a year to beat, including burnouts and all that. Currently WTD is in a weird spot as right now there's a lot of force meta to beat some of the modes and poor balacing of some the modes. We also get collabs between CTD and WTD and its nice to see some events, maps and towers ported to another game. About CTD, unfortunately it is discontinued, but the creator is working on another td game so thats promising. About the game itself, has some very unique modes, overall good balancing and perks that were mentioned in the video, but theres way more to them than what was shown.

I feel like tower heroes is so underrated when talking of roblox tower defense games I really enjoy the art style it takes the characters are both creative and feel great to play (it’s not just place down your accelerators and win) there is many viable endgame dps towers difficulty on maps feels great aswell as very open and lifelike maps that you actually like to be in and pretty well paced gameplay and one of the most fleshed out skin, emote and collectables system I’ve ever seen in a tower defense game and a great modifiers system.

as a WTD player, i can confirm the gameplay starts slow then gets fast af. It is a BRUTALLY difficult tower defense game. I genuinely believe that you have to be a veteran of other TD games to be able to play it.

You revaluate CTD, it is one of the most unique TD games on roblox, it has some really good mechanics to the towers, enemies and maps and it got a nice gameplay with cool secrets too, it's pretty great.

Another game you can try is called Flavor Frenzy. My opinion (Dont read if you want to play the game with no knowledge) In my opinion, its a game that can interest you, but after some time, you get bored. It has cool skins, so you should check them out. (Its only gambling is for skins, the towers are all bought out)

It kinda surprised me and concerned me that I played 70% of these games (90% if the ones i see and join for a bit counted). Overall great video I wanna recommend some of these lesser known games. Geometry defense, world tower defense, toy defense, scp defense, cube tower defense, pixel gun tower defense(there’s a pixel gun 3 and it’s the same game but with gambling and easier game play). The top good TD games are Tdx,tds,TB,tower blitz, and tower hero-ish. All the other gambling anime skibi toliet games are trash and you shouldn’t touch them I know from experience, they hurt to play. That’s the end of my yapping

Crazy how between this video and the last video doing this, the biggest td game (Anime Adventures) rose to fame and then got taken down without you being able to play it. IMO it was on the level of TDS, besides the heavy monetisation. The quality was unreal with the VFX, models, maps etc. Very well polished game, possibly even more so than TDS. Definitely a 9/10.

toiet tower defense had started making very good animations by the way but only for very good units,event units and P2W units, still if you know the values of the units and know how to play very good then you will love it :)
